Ahh. Sorry. Id be curious to see the spec difference.I'm referring to the transmission gear ratios, not the rear end ratio.

Midnight Blue Metallic and auto transmission. I'm having my original diff assembly rebuilt while I'm running a used one. Should have it back soon to swap back in, just new bearings and seals, stayed with the 3.42 gears. What color and transmission? I put 3.92 in mine and it was a fiasco, but a fun fiasco with the shims
GT MT82:Ahh. Sorry. Id be curious to see the spec difference.
I had no idea 4th gear was 1 to 1 in those. But that explains a few things.GT MT82:
1st (3.237), 2nd (2.104), 3rd (1.422), 4th (1.000), 5th (0.814), and 6th (0.622).
Dark Horse Tremec:
1st (3.25:1), 2nd (2.23:1), 3rd (1.61:1), 4th (1.24:1), 5th (1.00:1), 6th (0.63:1).
As I recall the major change came with the 2018 refresh. The 15-17 GT MT82s had even lower ratios than the current Tremec.
Oddly, the A10 ratios are slightly different between the Dark Horse and the GT, too. I am not sure why. Some engineer had a reason for doing it, as those sorts of decisions come with a cost attached, when they could have just used the same transmissions and called it a day.GT MT82:

And here is the best attitude in the entire thread. Not a penny. I wanted a convertible and you can’t get a DH as a convertible. Further the GT is all I want. Anything faster or better handling or with more track endurance would mean rather significant changes that don’t make the car a better cruiser. It’s a very cool car, but not for me.
Gearing on my Z06 was different than a non-Z06 Vette as it was promoted as a track car, same as the DH. It's top speed was rated slightly less as a result and they were right. Probably the same thing going on with the GT and DH. How fast does one really want to go and can most people handle a true WOT to governed top speed, safely?......probably not many.Oddly, the A10 ratios are slightly different between the Dark Horse and the GT, too. Really? Thats the first time of heard of that.Oddly, the A10 ratios are slightly different between the Dark Horse and the GT, too. I am not sure why. You summed it up perfectly. Not a penny. I wanted a convertible and you can’t get a DH as a convertible. Further the GT is all I want. Convertibles are way too dangerous for us bald guys! Not a penny. I wanted a convertible and you can’t get a DH as a convertible. Further the GT is all I want. I just looked at it this week. I did not think to bookmark it.Really? Thats the first time of heard of that.
The gear ratios are the same, they just rounded to 2 decimals for the DH and 3 decimals for the GT. Yeah, the engineer in me caught that right away.Oh, here it is.
Very close, but different. Only 5th and 7th are exactly the same, but 7th is 1:1, so only 5th is one where they had a choice and geared it the same.
