If you took the money from the Dark Horse SC and put it into a base GT with a Whipple plus mods.....wouldnt that be faster?
Not on the track and I don't think the 6 speed stage 1 whipple car would be faster than the DH SC. A10 maybe.

I got the impression when he said base GT he was talking about one with the A10.

base car comes with the 6 speed manual
It isn’t a markup and over 75% come with the auto. It’s fair to consider the manual as purely optional even if the box is checked by default.

Did they just change that for this year? It used to be a $1,595 option

I think they changed it a couple years ago and I also think he's talking about a base 6 speed car, but I could be wrong.

Brings up a great questions though, if speed was everything you don't think a base car with ~$100k in mods couldn't get you a faster track/street car then the DHSC? Even a lightly used base DH and ~$90k in mods would be a hell of a car. This is obviously assuming the DHSC would cost $140-150k and yes the moded car has no warrantee or resale value.

But speed is everything...right!? :)

If speed were everything, I’d have just kept my model 3 performance. It isn’t always about speed.

Agreed and that was my point.

Having modded a few cars, I'll stick to mostly factory now. Modded cars can be a PIA as a daily driver. Like the Sebring MX5 I did. The supercharger support/adjustment bracket broke while on a road trip. Luckily I had tools and could remove the belt and carry on N/A.
There's always something to fettle on them. It's fun when you're young, not so much when you just want to drive.
