I used to own a 10 speed car.....fun car......and the 10 speed is awesome

I have probably gone to dealerships 2 or 3 times with the intention of buying a GT500 CFTP .....I drive it and then I dont buy it......dont get me wrong...they are wicked fast and a rush when your driving it 10/10ths but here is the thing...

To me......When your just driving normally a manual transmission is just more fun.......and I could feel the weight of the blower on the front of the car...it just drove "heavier" ...it lacked the same balance my car had .....(I am curious if the Dark Horse SC was able to get rid of the "heavy" feeling of having another 300-400 pounds on the nose of the car)

I have tons of friends in the exotic car world ....

2WD Huracans are more sought after then AWD Huracans because of how they drive even though the AWD cars are definitely faster......

A Turbo S is faster then a GT3 but people want the GT3

Manual transmission cars pull more money then automatic transmission cars due to higher driver engagement.....(even though slower)

When you watch videos from owners that own both GT350s and GT500s and do a comparison.....they all admit the 6 speed cars are more fun to drive then the DCT.... a few examples....

Bottom line...I am sure the Dark Horse SC will be an incredibly fast car.......and Im sure the acceleration will be fun......but I'm personally after driving engagement ....if all I cared about was speed Id be shopping for a used Plaid .....

Again, if you don't want the fastest Mustang, enjoy the shifting. I love the feeling of watching a Slomaro fading into the distance as my Whipple 10R80 Dark Horse leaves them in anguish.

A lot of truth in that post.

I went from a 14 GT with the 6speed to a GTI with a DSG. That was a monster upgrade and glorious. But the manual in the 24+ GT is worlds better than what was in the 14. While i loved the change to the DSG before, I have zero desire this time to change to an automatic. The current 6 speed is really great.

I purchased my dream car back 2016. A new Porsche 911S. I found the perfect configuration except it had the DSG. Absolutely brilliant machine but I just did not feel as connected as the C7 manual I came from. I sold it for a 3 pedal machine. Drive or be driven.

I wish! Nah, in fact I'm doubling down on my situation! I have a Boundary oil pump and crankshaft sprocket on my dining room table, long-tube off-road headers, new flywheel/clutch, carbon fiber driveshaft, 19 lbs wheels (woohoo), springs (too low raising it .5"), and stage 2 Whipple upgrade kit. All going in this month. w00t!

Because it never happens to ICE vehicles, right?

It’s something like 40 times as likely for a gas car, 90 times for a hybrid, and 140 times more likely for a plugin hybrid. liquid fuel systems are hard and hybrids massively complicate an already complex system.

Wow, this thread has taken a crazy turn off topic. Look, drive the type of car you prefer, I'm just a fan of making the Mustang as quick as it can be. You like shifting and clutching, I support your right to choose that.

I've attended few car fires, only one was fatal. They were hit so hard from behind that the fuel tank was crushed and fuel sprayed throughout the passenger compartment, the two young guys had no chance to get out, although it appeared the driver had tried to open his brothers passenger door.
Generally speaking, ICE fires develop much slower, as shown in the burning Mustang.
With thermal runaway in an EV, lack of escape time appears to be the norm, not helped by the fire source being under the passenger compartment.
The smoke is so toxic it will disable the occupants in seconds. The enormous heat finishes the job.
I'll stick to ICE cars.

Looking at your other cars I know you get that sometimes its about character and the feeling vs. outright speed ......

Prior to this I had a 67 GT500 and a 56 Victoria with a built 428 CJ- the 56 was MAYBE a high 12 second car......but it was more about the driving experience then anything......I would still have them but my youngest daughter is really into newer cars - said if I bought something newer she would go to car shows/ cars n coffee exc with me as often as possible....which she has........but I still love the classics ......

I'm all about the performance. Back in the day I loved 4 speed top loader cars. Now all my early cars are cruisers except the CJ Mach 1 with a heavily built C6. 3.91 gears, and a barks the tires on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. Puts your head in the seat back on the shifts. Love that feeling. I had an '82 GT with a narrowed 9", and a stroker 302 with a BW 5 speed. It would routinely break transmission parts, cluster gears, output shafts, even the case once. Probably the 7500 RPM clutch dumps did that. I got tired of broken parts and finally put in a stroker big block 531 aluminum heads and intake, 800 Holley, and C6 with a 3000 stall and never broke a transmission again. This was about 1985. My favorite was a '68 hardtop with a 302 and a top loader. Yes, you can break a top loader with a 302.

Again, I support anyone who wants a stick. I just want to make my DH fast and make the Chubby and Dodge drivers think twice.
