That goes both ways. If you don't see a resemblance, there's something wrong with you. 😉
You are as blind as a bat. This is a MUSTANG forum and MUSTANG was the FIRST and the LAST. Anyone that STILL gets hung up on that silly comparison has something wrong with them, ahem, like maybe you.

Ok so we have the S650 version of the Mach 1 in the DH, and the S650 version of the GT500 in the DH SC, where is our S650 version of the GT350?

If/when that comes it better have a manual. And I like the 5.4L suggestion too. It needs a unique motor. It will probably be called the Dark Horse X or something 🤣🤣

I agree with you 100% but the Shelby name has been around for over 60 years. That's history. The DH name has been around for 3. Not really a fair comparison at least for today. Now come back 20 years from now, hopefully, and let's see if that changes.
It didn't take time. And the name isnt a relic. Its an established icon. Ford didn't renew the license to save money and they are using the racing excuse as a reason. And if you ARE going to replace it, dont pick something stupid. You still have Cobra and Boss. Its ain't rocket science.

And no, in 20 years no one is going get the feels when they hear Dork Horse SC. 🤣
At the end of the day though that’s up to Ford, they have to keep the Dark Horse going. As long as they keep winning races in a Dark Horse badged car and market it, it should grow.

First you have the Mustang, then the Mustang GT. Now you have the Dark Horse and the Dark Horse SC. It isn't the toughest sounding, but I get the logic.

Dude, what planet are you on?

The "Dark horse" name is the stupidest fucking name slapped on a Mustang since the Mustang II. The sales of them are shit, and they hold zero resale. I don't give a fuck if you put a jet engine in the damn thing. Ford dropped the ball with the Dark Horse and now they are trying to right the ship with a 100k car. Not-gonna-happen.

Ford has Mach, Boss, etc, but to slap a lame-ass Dark Horse badge in Vette territory is something that came out of the desk of a 35 year old accountant with his head and ass inverted.

Chill out man, no need to get so emotional over a name. I’ve only ever seen people dislike the name Dark Horse on these forums, everyone I’ve met in person either thinks it sounds cool or don’t have much of an opinion on it. Aside from the $80k+ MSRP Dark Horses, the $60-75k don’t seem
to be depreciating any quicker/slower than the Mach 1

Ford is going to piss off a lot of GTD owners with this car.
Nah, man the GTD is a different architecture with the front SLA and cantilever suspension setup and weight distribution from the transaxle. Limited run etc. I don't consider them comparable in any way.

Its a cool car. Not worth trading a GT500 in for, but I'd certainly like to see one and drive it. It sounds identical to a 500 which...makes sense.

Laugh all you want folks, I hope for Ford's sake I'm wrong...

But with used Dark Horses sitting on lots with 4k miles at 54k and not selling, you all are thinking with your hearts and not your heads...

I think the car is exactly what anyone with any sense thought it would be—an S650 GT500. Anyone expecting something revelatory hasn’t been paying attention to what Ford has been doing this generation. With that said, it’s a cool car, but nothing shocking at all. Want a new GT500? Here it is, but it’s called Dark Horse SC.

I like the look of the car, aside from the wing—not because it’s an ugly wing, I just prefer the look of a clean duck tail—but I understand why the wing is there. Sucks the non-track pack cars don’t get the ducktail. Not 100% sold on the exhaust tips, but not a deal breaker for me. Selfishly I’d like to see a manual option because I already have a dual clutch car, but I’m not at all surprised there’s no manual.

I understand the underpinnings are all different etc and the GTD's performance is supercar level. But the car shares the interior and the engine for the most part. And if the DH SC can be tuned, smaller pulley right off the bat, I dunno kind of makes the GTD seem like a big money grab to me.
