I think these are some serious track capable upgrades.

Anybody posting that this is a Whipple on a GT is an idiot. There is a lot to this. Read the lengthy list of what they changed.

Deliveries starting this summer? That's quick if it actually plays out that way.
Juggernaut summed that up perfectly. Lol

Now let's see that price tag and let the fireworks fly.

I was ready to give Ford my money if they called it a COBRA.... why do this to us Ford? No one wants it called a 'Dark Horse SC'. I get trying to appeal to the next generation, but what 20 year old has $100k+ laying around, which is probably where this will be?

They even advertise changes to the rear suspension geometry. It looks like they went through and made small improvements everywhere. There is a lot that could be missed if you are reading quickly.

Alright, this looks badass, ya won me over.

im thinking the base DHSC will be on par with the GT500 CFTP. The DH CFTP will be on a whole new level. I’m hoping for that at least….
I'm thinking the track pack will be an improvement on track and I'm going to go out on a strong limb and say MOST of that is the R-comp tires. The new platform is heavier, so I'd be willing to bet the weights are very similar after the 150lb reduction even with the CCBs (which I'm betting save ~55lbs rotating unsprung weight or so, which is nice).

My unprofessional opinion is that this will 100% be a legit track weapon, and it will be better than the GT500. But not by much once you account for tires (which people will change out anyway) and for how much it will cost, no one with a GT500 is going to switch unless they are bored, but if you wanted a GT500, and can afford the likely 120-130k loaded price, and need to have a new car, then this is your car.

As a street car, there isn't much different at all. Seats look cool though. I'm not a fan of the charger-like front end but I need to see one in person. If its NOT allocated, then that at least, is an improvement.

The biggest interest I have is how they tweaked the rear suspension geometry. Might be worth trying to copy. The variable traction control is also interesting.

I am guessing they may have improved cooling, aero, suspension design, and programming on things like the magneride. After all, it has been several years and a model change since the GT500 was produced, and who knows the last time engineers were allowed to improve upon the design when it was being produced.

100% on the name.

But I think you are missing the demographic. Were 20 year olds buying GT500s?

Is the Mustang Team even trying anymore? Why does this look like a black S550 Mach 1 theme? The only saving grace to this is the 5.2L Predator motor. And what’s the price? It better not be over $110K.

It did say they tweaked all those things over the base DH. I'm assuming they had to, given the power increase just like they did in the GT500. Will be very interesting to see how much those things cumulatively add up on track.

All of them
I spoke with Farley two months ago. And he mentioned 890 hp but I’m not sure if he was referring to this model or not. Most likely was referring to the new “Legend” model or another vehicle.

One way to think of it - this is a new model, S650, of GT500, which most of us wish they had never stopped producing, anyway.

I think this is great news.

I do not understand the disappointment from others at all.

I could not afford a new GT500 half a decade ago, either, and I probably cannot afford this car, but I still think it is great that Ford is producing this car.

That's exactly my point. I grew up always wanting a Shelby / Cobra. Now that some of us actually have the income to make it happen, they turn around and call it a 'Dark Horse'; not something we grew up with.
