Assuming you really have no button to disable ASS, you can disable it in a Custom Drive mode because you use a menu function to disable it.

you have 2026 software with 2024 job 1 parts.

They are not going to put the 2024 J1 software in because that is considered tampering with the emissions system, the ASS is there to reduce emissions and a dealer or shop that defeats it is risking some fines from some three letter government agency

I'm surprised that 2024 Job1 parts are still floating around factory floors unless it was a case of parts shortage and they had enough service parts in inventory to keep the line running

There is no federal requirement to have ASS systems installled in automobiles. (hence the ability to turn it off) Automakers install these to help in CAFE ratings .......

I would argue that once it is installed, and the car's predicted MPG is used to meet the CAFE numbers, the manufacturer or dealer defeating the system is in legal peril. Others are of the opinion it is an emissions control device and is illegal for a dealer or repair facility to defeat, but nothing is stopping the owner from doing it mostly with a aftermarket device that plugs into the OBD2 port or the wiring harness to the switch itself.

There are ways to defeat it yourself, disconnecting the hood position switch so the car thinks the hood is open is one, disconnecting the battery monitor sensor is another but it also disables the smart charge system reverting to the alternator charging all the time instead of on demand.

A light touch on the brake pedal also works, once you stop only apply as much pressure as needed to keep the car stopped, It will not engage ASS unless it sees a specific brake pressure or more.

@Kaptain75329 .... I have a 2024 GT Convertible and the first thing the salesman did during the intro was to ask me if I wanted the "stop engine" feature permanently turned off. I asked him if that was an IQ test. He laughed and then he disabled the feature and I don't have to do anything and the engine never stops or drops revs unless i want it to. Hope that is still possible with the 2026 GT I have ordered.

source?

I'm going by this, read the PDF from a month and a half ago
https://www.epa.gov/enforcement/aft...g-are-illegal-and-undermine-vehicle-emissions
That is correct IF the device is REQUIRED by FMVSS or the EPA (clean air act). otherwise they can be disabled via any means you like (the exception being vehicles used ONLY for off road, motor sports etc) ASS is neither of those, hence the user (or dealer) can turn it off. Most dealer decline to turn of user configurable devices (generally citing some potential libility) ......
