When I bought my GT premium a year ago they were not budging on Dark Horse pricing, so I decided to wait. Finally upgrading my GT! Arriving Monday (being shipped) is my new 2025 Dark Horse premium, Blue Ember Metallic, 700A, appearance package (hood stripe delete), automatic. Was holding out for a Tremec, but could not pass up this deal.

A couple of questions.

I am obviously keeping my Velgen wheels, with Michelin all season sports. 11" rear with 305/35 r20, 10" 285/35 r20 in front. I cant imagine there is, but is there any fitment issues putting them on the new Dark Horse?

Any dark horse owners put an H pipe on theirs?

I plan on H pipe, carbon trap delete, and upgrading the intake filters, as well as the oil separator. Anybody done this and seen any noticeable improvements?

Congratulations on the new incoming Horse. Mine is stock except for light weight wheels. Keep us posted on your builds!

Why the strip delete? Does it delete the roof and the trunk too?

It was a lot car, came with hood stripe delete. Everything else is all appearance package though. I had been looking at another DH with stripe delete, but it was a 600A and the discount was much better on the one I am going with, pretty much the same price. I am currently running the Velgen light weight VF5's on my GT, will look good on the new pony.

If you don't mind me asking, how far did they come off MSRP that got you to budge? What was out the door?

On my dark horse I went with corsa HH pipe, gave it a deeper sound and gave it some extra volume, sounds great. I removed the carbon traps, and added some think auto air filters, i noticed improved throttle response and it also changed the sound of the car just tiny bit but in a good way. I added the ford catch cans and they do their job no complaints aside from price. Love the tremec, and think the dh look great removing the hood decals, unless you get them painted. I went from a base non pp gt to a DH and thought it was a big difference, no regrets.

were they both automatics or manuals? This deal I am working on may fall through, they p!ssed me off at the end of the day Friday, I may back out and buy a different one, this one has tremec. I am currently in a manual trans, wondering how much more punch a 500hp tremec (with 3.77 rear)has over my 480hp non PP (with 3.55 rear)

Hope your deal happens like you want it to.
Mine is 2024 Blue Ember appearance and handling package, 700A with the tremec. Car was made in 9/24, stickered 76,705 I paid 72,810 in 4/2025. I added the Steeda H-pipe (used the standard clamps with no issues in more than 2500 miles). It sounds great in every exhaust mode. I also have the SOLER throttle controller. I may remove the carbon traps next and add stop the hop. And then long tube headers and whipple by spring. It’s a pleasure to drive — is on a rail and is fast and comfortable. I like the recaros A lot. Badass hotrod.

Just got my Grabber Blue 700A 11 days ago. I'm leaving it alone change wise except some totally hidden mods. Mine's a 10 speed slectshift. I know most want a stick, but you can't out shift the automatic. I'll take 0.4 tenths off the line every day of the week. Pulls hard, handles great. Be careful in track mode on the street. Drag mode shifts like a sledge hammer.

sweet ride, I may end up with one just like it, will find out today if this dealership is still playing games. There is a grabber blue that is my second choice, and already have an offer. That sales dude was off last Saturday so as far as he knows we are still doing business. It is a tremec, my preference. I have built a lot of muscle cars in my younger days, all but one were manual trans, I just like having more control of the beast ;-)

I get it, but if an automatic is faster, so be it. I see the automatic as an advantage due to the lightening quick shifts and keeping the engine closer to peak torque and HP. For me, it's all about the performance and fastest quarters and lap times.
