After a deep search of Dark Horse's, I found a '25 that is spec'd reallynice. I can get for dealer invoice, and minus the hold back. So that is a good deal on the DH. Has the handling pack already. So adding a SC, is going to be $20k, I assume. AND I need to find a dealer who can actually do it. My job doesn't allow me to travel the state or country to get to the "right" installer. My pricing, despite discounts, on the GT350, would put me $25k more vs the DH with handling pack, and with SC installed. $25k is a lot of money, but personally, I like the Shelby, and like the Shelby name. Just need to try and justify, or get my head wrapped around the $25k with the Shelby Hood, Trunk Lid, Spoiler, Stripes, and seat covers. Things sure are different in the car world vs pre-covid. No fun.
Just an FYI, Lebanon Ford added a Whipple supercharger to my 2024 GT last year for $11,500. It may be a little more now but they do at least 6 to 8 a month and you keep your ford warranty. You can always ship your car back and forth. They were great to work with. Ask for Cameron. I love having 810hp under the hood.

Damn 124k plus tax thats steep. I am a bit biased but I would go dark horse. Also the sc plus install should in no way cost you 20k. Say you get a DH with handling pack for 70-75k the whipple will run you 10-11k. Labor for install should be $2k at a shop or 3k at the dealer so the sc will total run you 13-14k. So dark horse ho after tax 75-80k + 13-14k for sc = 88-94k otd. Thats almost a 40k savings otd vs the shelby. For shelby money, you could have a whippled dh hp, and a fully restored 67 mustang or a nice boat, rv, bad ass side by side whatever.

Thats still a hefty price for a whippled gt with a body kit. It just depends do you want 1 badass car or maybe 2. A year and a half ago I was looking at buying a raptor R, badass truck sure, I decided it would be stupid for me to spend that kind of money on a single vehicle. Instead of the raptor R I literally was able to buy a new 3.5 raptor and a new mustang dark horse for the same price that I would have spent on the R. Not a single day ive regretted that choice.

100% makes sense. And I don’t disagree with that choice!!

On the one hand, you'll save a bunch of money modifying your DH, but I suspect that you won't get any of that back in resale, and maybe even less because a lot of buyers don't want a modified car. Compare that to a Shelby which has the name behind it, and you'll see some of that premium back. Of course it also depends on how you'll use it and for how long.

Me personally, I wouldn't do either, but I'm just throwing it out there as a discussion point.

Thanks for the post. Well, I know I want a Mustang and at 61, my window is closing. I likely won’t buy another fun car. I likely won’t sell it anytime soon. I’m all over the place from I want the Shelby GT350, I should really push the chips in on a Shelby Super Snake, or I should go build an RTR Mustang.

Save 30K and you know maybe another option... ( better to be thoroughly confused)

Why would you purchase an older car known to have issues and that has zero warranty?

I mean if that's what you were looking for, that's fine, but your interest in a new DH seems to indicate you would want a warranty.
They are all new. Brand new
