Attached is an excerpt from the Warranty Guide.

My belief is, if the assembly is determined to be faulty, or, if another faulty component caused the item of interest to prematurely fail, it would be covered. Otherwise, no.

YMMV.

Quote: "Yes, it is a wear item, but there's also an expectation of a certain lifespan. If the driver uses launch control just twice, a feature provided by the manufacturer, I don't see failure in 8000 miles to be acceptable."

I agree, but who defines the "certain lifespan"? And we have only him saying that he used it twice, the disassembly will tell the tale. What if he were complaining about brake pads worn out at 8,000 miles? Or tires?
Every customer gets the benfit of the doubt from me from the get go, but I have stories for DAYS about how customers have tried to get over on us with some of the most ridiculous stuff you can image.
I haven't done a clutch in years, but even with old English cars about 30,000 miles was normal.
Apart from deaf old ladies who revved the nuts off it until they could hear it, then slipped the clutch for 100 metres.
60's Ferraris were notorious for cooking clutches with a couple of hard starts.
Pads and tyres are a bit different though. Very much user controlled wear.

I remember back when the Coyote first came out there were a few issues with flywheel bolts coming loose. There were also some slave cylinder issues. Ford fixed those issues. If its an obvious defect Ford steps up. The dealer the OP is working with seems like one that would roll over and not want any warrant work.

So what did the OP decide to do?

I haven't had to replace a clutch… ever.

However, never underestimate the ability of someone who doesn't know how to drive a manual to destroy a clutch within a few hundred miles.

Sometimes it's stupidity, sometimes it's treating the clutch pedal as a footrest.
