I store my vehicle during the Winter months and use Stabil, the one marked "storage" in the pink bottle.

At the station, with the small white funnel (found in your trunk) inserted, empty the bottle of Stabil into the tank. Remove funnel. Fill the tank with gas. Drive home, about 10-15 minutes. By the time you're in the garage, it would have mixed well and entered the fuel lines.

With respect to fuel, no other action is required.

It should have.

The funnel is kind of hidden in the S550. I suspect it's in the same place in the S650.

If you cannot find one, go to local parts store or order one on-line.

Edit,

To the uninitiated, the capless system used by Ford has two flaps in the immediate vicinity of the filler neck opening. Additive bottles will open the first flap; they will not open the second flap. The white funnel will open both, and allow additives and gas cans access.

The nozzle at the gas station is the correct size to open both.

Edit,

To everyone, confirm you have one. Someone, somewhere, will run out of fuel and need it for the gas can.

Lol Thanks I just found it, I never seen it clipped there

I would fill it up with NO E gas. Since it has no ethynol, theres nothing in it to absorb moisture. I use it in mowers and stuff that sits regularly (after a few bad events fron not using it)
On the other hand, with E10 the ethanol will absorb the water so you don't get straight water collecting in the tank

You can also just use a screwdriver or sothing to push the other tab in

The presumption was to store it with a full tank of gas. Not sure where the moisture would come from. There's storage concerns also. The less ethynol the longer it can store. Not sure 10% is enough, but e85 has an effect.

Royal Purple has a fuel stabilizer. I trust all their lubricants so I’m trying this this year. Switched from sea foam after all the bad post I’ve read.

I've been using Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment for years with no complaints. Nothing wrong with STA-BIL, I just like that Star Tron also acts as a cleaner. The blue bottle came highly recommended from my mechanic buddies and I've never had an issue after 6-7 months of storage with use in my S197 or the S650.

Looking forward to driving it again instead of just talking about it!

I was wondering what you meant by the funnel, then I clicked. My wife calls it the "She wee"

What fuel treatment additive do you all recommend? This being my first Mustang and I'm probably parking her for the season in a couple of weeks and I was going to use a Sta-Bil product and I'm looking for some insight on which product to use? Thanks from a newbie
Startron ,seafoam stabil ect all pretty good products. Probably don't need it just for few weeks but i dont think it would hurt to use.

For the winter just a full tank topped off, only need the sta-bil if gonna be sitting for years. Full tank of premium should be fine for winter storage, especially if indoors. I’d watch more for critters chewing wiring before worrying about stale fuel causing an issue during storage.

ethanol turns into green gunk as it sits, and brings in extra moisture, stabil works fine and super cheap, takes 80% of a bittle to a full tank of fuel, if you can get ethanol free your probbaly ok for the winter but everything here is e10

Since it’s not clogging the jets and floats as long as it’s a full tank how much is actually gonna go bad in six plus months?

is there a gas station near you where you can get ethanol free gas?

there is a website to find such places ( https://www.pure-gas.org/ ) and that is what I use in my cars and bikes when they get put up for the summer when I go north.

I only do it because there is ethanol free gas everywhere in FL

there is nothing in a modern car that is going to get clogged up in a few months of sitting.

Even bikes these days are mostly fuel injected, but my carb'd bikes always got the carbs drained if they were going to sit more than a couple of weeks, those effn small idle jets would clog if you looked at them the wrong way.

The biggest thing is fill the tank so no water vapor can accumulate with temperature changes, pump the tires up to keep them from flat spotting, seal the exhaust tips and throttle body opening to keep air put of the cylinders (same thing no water vapor in the combustion chamber) and put mouse traps all around and in the car. Check your air box and cabin air filters in the spring for signs of rodents getting in there,

E10 is weird

I can leave it in my riding mower all winter and after a couple cranks and a puff of smoke it starts just fine

I've left it in my push mower for two years and it's fine

my snowblower, though, if I don't drain it, it turns into goo in the bottom of the carb in just a few months and has to be cleaned out.
