Couldn't find any threads about people using this. So it was rainy out yesterday and i found a good parking lot and played with the drift brake. What's everyones impression of this thing? I am no stranger to sliding a car sideways in good fun but this was a different experience for me. I was very surprised at the instant on/off with the slight movement of the handle, i guess i thought there would be a little more engagement area.

Downshift to second while rolling into a 4 way intersection, clutch in at around 20 mph, rip the e-brake up and cut the wheel a hair, then drop it, and accel away. Its fun

It's a riot, spent time on the "Track attack".

Is it instantaneous in its engagement?

Reason I ask is there's one thing I find frustrating is when parking; I'll pull the handbrake in its regular setting and it takes about a second to engage, by which point, the car has started to move (it's a manual) and then jolts and bobs on its suspension like a 70's land yacht being whacked into Park on an old television programme.

I realise what I'm doing is not actually good driving practice, but with a real handbrake, I can time to engagement just right to make everything smooth, but like many modern electronic alternatives, this needs to have a think first before responding.

The handle sits a little low and back and doesn't feel comfortable for me. I was thinking of modifying the handle some how so that it sits higher so that you reach forward instead of backwards

Only used it as a park brake, not ready to buy a new set of tires so haven’t tried… once enabled in the console does it revert to off and become parking brake at shutdown, wasn’t sure how it acted and haven’t really checked the book.

They teach you how to use it at the DH Track Attack. It was ton of fun to play with in safe space.

I have never used it for parking or drifting.

If I ever do, I am afraid I will have to start wearing sideways baseball caps and sport jerseys for shirts while replying "Word" whenever somebody says something I agree with, and every other sentence will have to be, "Know what I'm sayin'?"

Oh please don't that. We don't need one more of those people, "know what I'm sayin', bruh"? 🙄

This is obviously a dangerous tactic which should be reserved for track events. Oh! And paid up insurance premiums!

With practice it will feel more normal.
