I'm really digging the Bullitt/Mach 1 underhood engine dress up kit. I did some comparing between our S550 and S650 and it looks like the S550 kit would/could/may fit. We removed the ugly "beauty" (not to this beholder) covers so now you can see the four mounting studs. Anyone have any experiences with this kit and know why new heater hoses are included?

Those intake runners would look superb in red wrinkle finish and no mounting holes.
Or satin chrome.
I was thinking black, like the S550's. Harder to see the rubber grommets and holes too.

Those covers in nearly any color you want (inner and outer can be different) are all over the place. My opinion is still too much unless you're showing the car with hood up.

Just note, it's really hard getting the beauty cover off with the tower-to-tower strut brace in place (I was able to, but the top and bottom most surfaces got a little scuffed). This would then necessitate the removal of the bar for more maintenance scenarios so you don't scuff up the paint on the pretty painted one. Removal of the brace brings it's risks of breaking off the studs as you must use new nuts every time, must not over torque at all (should be just under the limit), must not use anything that can lubricate the stud such as loctite.

Thus my reasoning for wanting the minimal beauty covers from the Bullitt/Mach 1 and this post.

This is even worse for the S550 as the beauty cover it's quite a bit larger than the one in the S650 and has to come out in pieces if there's a strut tower-to-tower brace in place or risk reinstall of the brace and breaking studs.

Damn! They sure look sharp (and I'm not a fan of under hood bling)!. You're right about the price though; Rapid Red + CF ended up being $388 [6% internet sales tax in MI; even for stuff purchased out of state 🤬] + S & H!

Dresses up under the hood very nice
Where did you get those/that ford performance caps ? Are they on the ford performance site ? I don't remember seeing them.
