I have driven several of the early imported EVs and they were garbage. However, my friend bought a used Volt that he loves, but has bought an eight year old Toyota as his road car because it is much better on long trips. EVs have their place, but like all things mechanical, they have limitations. Recently after seeing the proposed Tevo on Jay Leno, I would seriously consider one in the future, but as long as I do serious towing, I will probably stay with ICE or a hybrid. Right now, batteries are the problem with EVs due to cost, disposal issues and recharging needs.

I once owned a trash quality vehicle. I got rid of it quick. Why own one much less two?
Mustang wise, because there is no other option for a manual trans v8. For the raptor as I said its very good at what it does. It doesnt sit in a mall parking lot, I drive it across a stretch of desert 4-5 times a week dropping the kids off at school and picking em up in rural AZ. We also have seasonal monsoons and flashfloods that would submerge a mustang past their intakes. Basically I needed a truck that was more capable than my 5.0 4x4 when it really counted, the raptor does not disappoint performance wise. Please understand I am not saying mustang or raptors are bad vehicles, because I think they are bad ass vehicles to drive. The trash quality comment is based on what you get vs what they cost. If they sale a mustang for 65-70k it should have better interior materials than a 24k hyundai, wouldnt you agree?.

Comparing ICE to shiz to me. DILLIGAF is all I can say. Who cares about whatever that Mach-E thing is. My $.02 and I am entitled to it. Hope you don't incinerate instantly someday.

Thank you for purchasing your EVs - more gas for real cars.

One thing I do LOVE about EVs - it's what I call musical cars.....watching who gets caught holding the EV as it approaches three years of age - the mid-point of most EV's battery life. After three years no one in their right mind will buy a used one. Now that IS fun to watch. Well, that and watching an owner of an EV try to get a tow if their EV needs one. Tow truck operators treat them like Ebola. Parking garages are banning them on the second floors and up and many Ferries will not transport them. So much fun to watch.

I didn't buy nor want a 65-70K vehicle for my needs or wants. What interior materials would you want in your vehicle that you don't have? All vehicles have plastic in them because it is a good light material. So, what else do you want?

Plastic isnt the problem, ford went with very very cheap plastic in the mustang, like cheaper than you will find in a hyundai or kia.

Does your DH have the premium leather trim package? It really helps.

I have the GT Premium package….I think the interior is nice with the leather trim and door panels… and they have put some soft touch plastic on the dash. The cheapest plastic parts are down low and not seen easily, so they do cut corners where they can.

(I once bought a 98 Camaro Z28 brand new….you want to see a sea of cheap gaudy plastic, there’s your benchmark.)

Weird take. You must have the base interior then? It's certianly better than the 2 previous generations. I think the premium interior is quite nice.

The base dark horse interior uses the same “plastics as the premium gt, the o ly things missing are that lil bit of fake leather trim under the screen that goes across the dash, and that extra small area on the door panels. I had the oppurtunity to compare the base DH with a base GT as at the time I owned both. The base dh was much better quality inside. However, for a 65-70k car its still not exactly what I would call Nice for the price range. I hate to compare it to say an m2 or a lexus is500 etc but Ford kind of did that themselves when they put it in the same price range. I am not saying the mustang is bad by any means for what it is, im saying its bad for its price point, especially with ford raising the price every year, removing features, and some dealers trying to mark them up. The dh is a solid 55-58k car, 65k+ is bs.

I would drive a Mustang II over a Mach E….but keep doing you. You seem like the kind of person the Mach E is made for.

Stats show exit time survival in a bad crash in order to exit is seconds vs gas/diesel about 2 minutes. They also show many 10s of thousands of gallons of water doesn't put them out completely. Peace out.

I've only attended one ICE car fire as a result of a crash where the occupants had no chance to get out. Not that Traffic cops are often first on the scene very much.
Anyway, two teenage brothers had been in town with their new car, they stopped for an incident on the motorway and a drunk slammed into the back of their car at around 100kmh, crushed the rear of their car and ruptured the tank. They had no chance at all, the interior was full of gas vapour and exploded.
That seems to be the case with EV's from thermal runaway. If the poisonous gases don't incapacitate you immediately, the rapid spread of fire gets you.

Not to derail this thread, but I’ve never seen a red GT with the 20” Premium wheels. Damn that looks sharp! Any other pics of it?
