The main reason I'm anti EV for myself, is that they're the antithesis of what I love about cars and bikes. There's not the emotional connection that I get from a well designed, high revving, high power ICE. It's like the heart has been torn out of a car.
I don't care if others buy them, I do care if my taxes subsidise them though.
I also wonder what's going to happen to all the dead EV's in future. You can keep ICE cars going for decades, that won't be possible with EV's if only because of cost.

How did the actual purchase price compare between the two? One has slightly more wiz bang and the other may go further, one may feel more fun and the other may feel more stable but how much did it cost to experience the difference. Cost is relative and price is subjective but purchase is actual.

I'm glad that the suv is working out for you. I am not anti EV, its coming and we can't stop it, but I am anti junk car. As a Ford dealership service employee, the Mach E has been the worst mainteance and QC nightmare that I've seen in many years. My hearts just sinks when one pulls up on the service drive, Its gonna be some weird issue and an entitled woke owner. (not throwing shade at the OP, but stereotypes exist for a reason) We've sold year old used ones for almost half of a new one if that tells you anything. When Toyota gets their solid state battery vehicles to the market, its gonna kill the domestic stuff.
As an enthusiast, I will always rather have an ICE GT, but for a spouses or kids car, I think EV is the way of the future
But until we can do better as a manufacturer, most people will have the same opinion of them as our forum brethren here.

Times two. I could not have worded it better. In addition, I don't like any govenment attempting to shove anything down my throat. Government is to serve me, not vice versa but one would never know it.

Most innovation requires subsidy and incentives to encourage adoption.

As Henry Ford explained when asked if his customers wanted the Model T, “If we'd asked them, they'd have told us they wanted a faster horse!”

Interesting question! The driving experience is so different! I'm tempted to say the 2025 GT is more "fun" to drive, and certainly louder, but the Mach-E GTPE feels more nimble.

This even though the Mach-E GTPE outweighs the gas Mustang GT by around 1,400 lbs! That big battery pack weighs a lot, but it also means the GTPE has a very low center of gravity and sticks to the road like the heavy car it is.

I'm running Pirellis on the GTPE and Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires on the Mustang GT, both max performance summer rubber on 20-inch wheels.
Something I noticed when test driving Mach-Es is that when I let off the accelerator in Sport mode, the car slows down a lot quicker than in Normal mode. Is that typical for Sport mode? I just thought it was quirky that Normal felt more natural than Sport in that regard.

Good observation! EV‘s like the Mach-E have a feature called “one pedal driving.” I got used to it very rapidly, it works really well. The regenerative brakes are so effective that drivers hardly ever use the conventional brakes.

The regen brakes add power back to the battery anytime you’re decelerating, especially going downhill.

Incidentally, did I mention that I have three Ford EVs, and they have been nearly maintenance free in the 150,000+ miles since I’ve owned them. There are no fluids to change; about all they ever need is the tires rotated every 10,000 miles! Recalls and software updates are all accomplished over the air, via Wi-Fi.

I will say that Ford's hybrid vehicles are very good, even the older ones, long lasting with few issues. I have C-Max's and 14 year old Fusion hybrids in all the time for regular service only. Full electric Lightning and Mach E, poor quality. I am happy to hear of someone getting good use out of them, but be assured, you are in the minority.

That's not consistent with what folks are saying over on our sister forums for Mach-E owners and Lightning owners.

Many owners like me have not only had no trouble with our Lightnings and Mach-Es, but they also require lower maintenance overall than our ICE cars and trucks. Of course, as with any new technology, when something does go wrong, it can be challenging to troubleshoot and fix. But those problems seem to involve a distinct minority of vehicles. Of course, YMMV!

Did you miss the part where I work at Ford dealership service department? Zero first hand experience?
You've had two and I've dealt with multiple dozens of them. I am glad you are happy with yours, and its really in my best interests if everyone was happy with them, but I stand by my assesment.
As far as forum posts, if you take this forum as an example, its filled with complaints and problems. And as regards our cars, my dealership eperience is way different, I'v e seen very few real world issues with the S650's. What did you say above? YMMV?
I still agree to disagree

Im just gonna say for an ev I believe there are better options out there. I own a 6spd dark horse and a 25 raptor, what they have in common is they are both very good at what they do and you cant find it elsewhere, they both also suffer from fords trash quality. If I was interested in an EV ford would be the one of the last companies I would ever consider. But to each their own, glad you like your cars, because thats what counts.

If i were to get an EV it would be a Tesla and a plaid at that. Fastest thing out there and 4 doors. Maybe in 5 years when you can buy one for 10k or less I may...just may do it lol. Otherwise ill pass on electric right now. I dont do enough driving to worry about the savings on gas and I cant use one as a work truck.

I once owned a trash quality vehicle. I got rid of it quick. Why own one much less two?
