I've put more than 44,000 miles on my 2022 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition since new. And now I have a 2025 Mustang GT Premium.

Attached are a couple of photos of the two GTs. They are similarly equipped, with a slight edge to the Mach-E GT, which has magneride suspension, BlueCruise, and a B&O sound system. My GT Premium has the 400A equipment package without adaptive cruise control.

The 2022 Mach-E GTPE is painted in Iced Blue Silver Metallic (discontinued after 2022), and the 2025 GT is coated in Vapor Blue Metallic.

Guess which GT is faster--wins every race--and far more efficient as well? The license plate should be a clue! Interestingly, they have almost identical horsepower (480 v. 486 hp), but the Mach-E GTPE has far more torque, as you might expect from two big electric motors (634 v. 418 lb-ft).

I love the sound of my 2025 GT, especially with the Active Valve Exhaust, but there's no way it beats the Mach-E GTPE for either performance or efficiency. Driving the Mach-E GTPE feels like the future; by contrast, the 2025 GT feels like I'm driving a dinosaur--one of the last of its kind... YMMV!

Nice but just to give you a hard time.
is that 418 for the gt in first or fourth?
bet you can’t carry enough electricity to get the e-machine to the charging station if it runs short. Bet pushing is out of the question.

hows the total range been compared between the two?

Not sure about the torque figures; they're the published versions.

The Mach-E GTPE has shorter legs than the ICE GT: the gas car has about a 100-mile advantage. But it's far more costly to fill up than the Mach-E, partly because I have a 36-panel solar array that allows me to run my Mach-E mainly on solar power.

But if you built your own still how much would it cost?

Do you mostly charge at home or have you found any consistency in the out and about charge price? Granted gas is all over the place (both literally and figuratively) but how’s it been finding charges?

I charge at home about 80 percent of the time. I have a Level 2 charger on the outside of my garage, and usually charge at night when the rates are lowest. The Mach-E will charge from empty to full overnight; it's like waking up with a full tank! Charging at home is far cheaper than on the road, especially when I can tap solar power. Both are less expensive than buying gasoline! :sunglasses:

Level 3 DC fast chargers are widely available in California, and they work well to charge while on a road trip. My commute to the office is about 120 miles each way, but I only go once a week.

Interesting to see the 2 cars side by side.

Of course electric is quicker. the GT engine develops 486 hp at 7500 RPM, while the Mach E motors have ALL 480 hp all at once from a dead start….not even including the extra torque.

Electric doesn’t make me giggle like a V8 does, but nice to see you have the best of both worlds.

it’s funny, I have a good friend who races dragsters and funny cars, yet will stop by my house driving a Prius…LMAO.

Price per mile? Can’t use the home charge rate though. I had a volt and 110v charging was nice, got to the point where i was just filling the fuel tank about once a year but almost got so bad i had to extend some of my trips so the gas engine could complete it’s motor run to keep from going stale routine. (Acknowledging you don’t have that issue just noting local commute and trickle charge worked well for the majority of the time).

as you begin to accumulate miles on the new one which do you find you grab more spontaneously when needing to drive outside of the work commute?

Interesting question! The driving experience is so different! I'm tempted to say the 2025 GT is more "fun" to drive, and certainly louder, but the Mach-E GTPE feels more nimble.

This even though the Mach-E GTPE outweighs the gas Mustang GT by around 1,400 lbs! That big battery pack weighs a lot, but it also means the GTPE has a very low center of gravity and sticks to the road like the heavy car it is.

I'm running Pirellis on the GTPE and Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires on the Mustang GT, both max performance summer rubber on 20-inch wheels.

According to the President of Toyota there is six times the environmental damage to build an EV compared to an ICE. In Europe a friend who regrets buying his EV has to unplug it (city ordinance) during periods of power shortages. I could go on and on. EVs - garbage - whose construction destroys the environment of poor foreign nations (the Philippines - nickel mining, Chile - lithium ponds, etc.) so virtue signaling greenies can feel better and while using the express lanes with one passenger.

Way to hijack the thread. Why people are so Triggered by EVs they need to post like this is beyond me. Go touch some grass bro. And stop pretending you care about the environment of poor nations. Lol.

Here we go! The anti-EV crowd was bound to show up here...

All cars and all forms of energy production have environmental downsides, including pollution that contributes to climate change. Petroleum extraction has well-known downsides, just as the extraction of minerals for EVs does.

Beyond that, there's no question my Mach-E GTPE performs better, costs far less to operate, and is far more efficient than my ICE Mustang. You don't have to be a "greenie", as you put it, to appreciate those things.

We're fortunate to have choices of vehicles, no matter whether we live in Red or Blue states. You can drive what you prefer, and respect the choices of others that may be different than yours.

Totally agree. @AZ_Ryan, you said it better than I could!

I can relate. I love my Mach-E also. It's so smooth and great for stoplight-to-stoplight shenanigans without drawing attention!
