I don’t recall the Forum members name that had a running sheet of all of the Updates that are out and he could even check your VIN # to see if you had any pending Updates. @roadpilot, do you recall that Forum members name?? It was @ruderaw or something close to that but I haven’t seen him post anything in a while now.
That's me. OTA history thread for these cars is below. I need to add the PCM one you posted earlier to the spreadsheet which I will no now.

Funny .... I have it set to not auto-update and I keep getting updates and no notices.
Auto-updates only apply to updates that require the vehicle to be parked and inhibited while they install. Once the server queues up an OTA trigger for a vehicle, the next time the vehicle is started, it pings the server and the OTA process starts. If you have auto-updates on, it will download and install the update while the car is on and driving.

If it requires to be inhibited, it will download the files and install the update based on the auto-updates scheduled time.

CMOS batteries these days? I doubt it. Most all longterm memory used in computer systems these days are non volatile. No battery needed.
You might be right. The only way to verify is disconnect the battery ground for an hour and see what goes back to default.

Honestly I’ve never heard of a car using a cmos battery being used in an automobile. But then I didn’t know my wife’s Volvo XC60 has a second battery for the auto start stop system. Which we have turned off btw.

I’m beginning to get the impression that the concept has been lost in the details, forest and trees style.

Ok, I'm being stupid or something. On that thread I see one attached file but when I get it, there are no tabs and the update info stops in 2024. Is that what I should be expecting to see, or did I miss something?

The updates toward the bottom of the spreadsheet may be 2024 only as 2025 models shipped with newer Sync software than the 2024s did. There may be more OTAs out there for these cars not listed there. This group doesn't seem to care about updates as much as other vehicle owners. Rightfully so, as there haven't been as many updates for these cars compared to other Ford vehicles; especially 2025s. The last two updates I added are there because I came across this and another thread in the last few days where someone reported getting an OTA that wasn't on the list. The Mustangs also have less modules than the F150s, Bronco, Expedition and Mach E which means less updates.

With the exception of the APIM update that gave 2024s the new gauges and the BCM update that allowed walk away lock to work, most of the updates for these cars have been fixes that don't give the owner any new cool features.

Ah, ok. Thanks! I thought I was really being dumb there. Mine's a 2025 so that makes sense I guess. We're just all trying to figure out what makes some of our settings periodically revert to defaults. Mine happened more frequently in the first month I had the car and now randomly once a month or so. We'd thought it might be updates, but that's way too many times for updates to be pushed. Just weirdness! But I guess this means we can eliminate updates as the cause, especially for 2025 models.

Not perhaps completely related...but has anyone seen a way to turn OFF the damn "keep your hands on the wheel" message? With cruise control on and on a freeway, I literally have to keep jiggling the steering back and forth even when I don't need to because about every 15-20 seconds if I don't, it will start warning me and then start blinking and making a sound a few seconds after THAT! Any way to make this a reasonable interval or turn it off? I thought these things were supposed to sense if your hands were actually on the wheel, but it clearly doesn't and instead just trips off if you're not constantly moving the damn wheel!

That's a safety feature that will not be possible to turn off.

Man, is it as annoying for everyone else? It goes off WAY too quickly and way too much. My wife's car has a similar feature, but it doesn't bother you if your hands are actually on the wheel. Seems like Ford went super cheap here and it's super annoying.

Lane keeping turned on? How often are you using your knee to steer?

If you want to turn that off, you can turn all the assists off. That way you have full control over the car without that warning.

Yeah, the adaptive cruise and such is on and that's when it does it. Just have never seen a car do it THIS quickly. Was hoping I missed some stupid option. :)

The thing is, even with your hands on the wheel, unless you actively steer back and forth, even on a long straight way...it trips and goes off. Just silly.
