I don’t recall the Forum members name that had a running sheet of all of the Updates that are out and he could even check your VIN # to see if you had any pending Updates. @roadpilot, do you recall that Forum members name?? It was @ruderaw or something close to that but I haven’t seen him post anything in a while now.

I went to the Ford app and it claims I have had no updates in the last 90 days, yet My gages and colors have been reset as well as a few options.

So .... this sort of begs the question of whether we all have a bug that's resetting stuff without an update. That's more annoying than resetting on an update.

I thought it was a bug until I came here to read a lot of people here got an Update that reset some things.

I have games on Xbox that have detailed update info stating all the things that have been adjusted. But Ford is vague as hell about a $60K car.

Software updates are a relatively new thing for the automotive industry. They are certainly not as advanced as OTA updates for other electronic products. Give it time they will get there.

Because not everyone uses they app.
The car and slash or the website could still do it’s thing. Problem is my garage is like batman’s faraday cage, she’s a convertible so she sleeps / stays undercover when she’s home. Since wifi isn’t used for ota (unless super duper critical) they get to void my warranty just because i’d like to drive it over to them for the yearly inspection?

Whether I got an update or not here is a list of items changed in my options.

My Color gage colors changed to default colors

Emergency Braking set to “ON”. I’m pretty sure I checked that “OFF” becuase I don’t need the car slamming on the brakes when I don’t want it to. (There have been many errors in what these systems in general ….sense as a cause for emergency braking, but that’s another discussion.)

Motion Sensor set to “ON”. The car started asking me on shut down if I wanted to activate it, when I previously had it disabled.

This last part I’d like confirmed from others here.….Cobra style gages are only white when headlights are off. When any lights are on, even running lights, the Cobra gages are no longer white-faced…they are clear. I don’t remember Cobra gages changing depending upon what the headlights are doing.

Anyone remember the Cobra gages changing depending on headlights?

I can't speak to the Cobra gauges. No experience with them. This is damn odd though. Still the only thing that resets for me is the ambient color. Goes back to that default amber color once in a while. I'm mystified. I'm now thinking it's not updates. It's just some software bug.

I get this from time to time as well. Good stretches in between tho and I only notice because my Ambient lighting is off in the footbeds. Lol.

Yeah, me too. Now at least. Had the car for almost 4 months now. In the first few weeks it seemed to reset at least once or twice a week. And more than just the ambient color...lost my favorite locations in navigation as well, oddly...even though those two systems are separate. But bottom line, over the past couple of months, It's happened maybe once a month. I've had ZERO notifications that any update has been pushed or installed.

REALLY puzzles me because it SEEMS to me to be a software bug of some kind, but if it is...why is it so damn random and why would it have occurred more frequently when I first got the car? That doesn't make sense either. So I'm really puzzled by it. I simply cannot find any causative factors. And I've been an IT professional my whole career including doing development work in the past, so I FEEL like I SHOULD be able to figure this one out, but I can't!

If I had to guess, I think it might have to do with resting battery voltage. These cars suck up voltage just parked, and I frequently put it on the battery tender just to keep it at optimum voltage. My gage colors reset after sitting parked for 3 days, not on the Tender.

It might be possible the battery needs to be at a certain level of voltage to maintain all the settings.

Just a guess….

Personalized settings should be retained using a cmos battery

CMOS batteries these days? I doubt it. Most all longterm memory used in computer systems these days are non volatile. No battery needed.
