The cars are actually pretty close in lap time, and before anyone says oh well the ZR1 was driven by an engineer, those engineers have hundreds if not thousands of laps of seat time in those Corvettes, who had WAY more seat time than Dirk had with the GTD prior to his run, they're racing drivers who basically live at the track. So the drivers were pretty evenly matched.
The ZR1 and ZR1X beat the GTD by 2-3 seconds, that's close enough where Ford could take it back if they get some more practice in, and make some further improvements to the car. This is getting interesting and I'm all here for it.
