Updating. What the hell, why not...
The goggles, they do nothing...

Update did not help. OS/Calibration ID changed from SR3A-14C204-AEC to SR3A-14C204-AED tho...

Well, my old OS works! I can open those files!

But now, because I updated, that OS is not defined...

Womp womp.

Ok, so: first learning experience. HPTuners engineer suggested that I push the old .HPT file on, and now I just feel plain derpy, of course. So yes, I was able to load my previous .HPT file and replace the new OS with the old one. In the process, I was succesfully able to write the stock map back to the ECU, burning the 4 credits I purchased in the process and establishing dominion over Maude's ECU. So we're off to the races! Now I just need to learn this new platform...

So yeah, to other folks, I'd say back up your original .HPT before any updates in case HPTuners defines one vs. another.

So, deep breaths... Anyone else on here able to begin analyzing their stock map? Peeking at my MAF curve now:

Side feature... In the menus, car still thinks I've got that OTA update installed; it's in the history, even though I rolled back. Might sync on the backend somewhere, but interesting spoofing possibilities...

Noob question.... So are these various tunes allowable because Ford unlocked the ECU, or did some egghead find a way around the encryption. Question #2, if the latter, what is preventing Ford from issuing an OTA update to disable the tune? thanks in advance...

First of all, I don't know, and I'd be skeptical of anyone who said they did.

That said, I know that Eric & Friends over at HPTuners discovered an exploit, I can personally verify it works, and I think that now that the genie is out of the bottle, there's no way to get it back in. If I can make a chip that hacks Xboxes based on a hardware exploit, they're not going to be able to bring all the Xboxes back in to eliminate that part of the circuit. I feel confident it's a hardware-based exploit to a degree, because HPTuners has built a business on this; they've clearly been planning this for some time, and both Ford and GM have NOT been nuking tunes in the wild with OTA updates. It's bad press, bad feelings, bad business. I fully believe that while Ford was not behind the exploit, now that it's here, they're just going to keep selling cars and letting the tuning scene do its thing.

I’m in and editing with HP Tuners VCM software. I’m trying to learn as I go. Ghost Cam and burple tune completed just to play around. I’m still struggling to figure out how to raise rev and speed limiter. Interested in figuring out this stuff so if anyone has any pointers share in the thread. 24 DHP

Here's part of the equation on raising rev limiter. There's usually a limiter in transmission tab too, but this is what I've found so far:

Awesome. I’ll start a new tune and throw it on and see how it goes. Maybe it’s in transmission that I’m lacking.

Ok, some weirdness from other pockets...

I've been trying to work on MAF tuning, where I've always historically began, and ran up against this MAF map for bank 1; bank 2 will likely need its own calibration:

SENT A/D is apparently a raw count corresponding to voltage. While researching how to account for this in an HPTuners histogram with LTFT + STFT as the parameter, a little bird told me that S650's are apparently exclusively Speed Density tuned? Anyone else hear this?

Also, there's 27 Speed Density tables apparently, one for every driving situation, and an executive manager in ECU that selects and blends them as needed. I've managed to record when they turn on in the logs, but know jack sh1t about how the executive chooses them.

Learnin', learnin'...
