Was I talking about the overall verdict or did I limit myself to Speed and Interior quality?
Why do you want to bring up other reasons to make the "race" look closer?

It's a fact that the M2 is faster in all aspects and has far superior interior quality. That's it.
So now you can say that the Mustang has other things where they shine, fine. But I didn't talk about those other things.
My point is …I don’t agree with your use of the word ā€œfarā€
Do you understand that??
Like arguing with my wife! Lol

If you didn't had issues with reading and understanding, you wouldn't have asked this question.
I already reacted to that earlier by saying that it depends on what your criteria is.

But you felt insulted in some sort of way. Because this is a Mustang forum and we should defend the Mustang at all costs like our life is on the line. Nope, I'm not like that.
If something is faster, it is faster. If something has better quality, it has better quality.

But your tactic is like this:
"Damn, I don't like that the M2 is faster and has better quality. You know what? I'm going to find some other things where the Mustang scores higher than the M2".

This is something we did in school when we were kids.

Kid 1: My car is faster
Kid 2: But my car has a better color

LOL

Say what you will, but the modern BMW's just don't give me the same fizz as a mustang.

They're too heavy-handed, over bearing, and needy with all the tech. Even moreso, the engine just doesn't *feel* as unique or special. They'll whip the tail around no problem and send you around a corner, effortlessly leaving a trail of rubber behind you, but it all feels a bit synthetic.

The M2 is like sitting on a baroque sofa in front of an electric fireplace. Its all so dashy, and highly calculated with a perfect fire to warm my feet.

The mustang is very much like sitting on a camping chair in front of a big burning pile of tires, and can of gasoline next to you incase you get bored with the 2-story tall fire and would prefer it a little larger.

Obviously the sofa and fireplace have a place for those who prefer it, but personally, I'll stick to my can of gasoline.

It’s funny, when my wife came with me to test drive the M2 , she said it’s just not you. You’re a Mustang guy.

It literally boils down to this.

Yeah the BMW is stellar at a lot of things when you look at them all separately. I have driven countless of them enough times to know, old and new. But the actual package as a whole adds up to something wholly different, and thats just a general vibe the car gives off.

So with those 15mm spacers did you have to use longer wheel studs or keep the originals? they didn't really show that part on the Throtl video. Will check out those wheels on the BMW build page. Maybe someday when it is time to trade again I will consider one, I do like my GT but like you say I don't think I have seen a M2 around where I live but Mustangs yeah. Do all M2's come with those brakes or is that optional brakes?

I got the Dinan spacers and they came with their own bolts. If you get the blue calipers it doesn't come with those pads. They still dust real bad but they aren't as noisy.

It depends on what your criteria is for "close".
Fact is that the M2 is faster than the Dark Horse in every aspect.

Even the link you shared where you claimed the Dark Horse won, shows that the M2 is faster.

Acceleration MPH
0-301.5 sec1.5 sec
0-402.12.2
0-503.13.2
0-603.84.1
0-705.15.6
0-806.26.8
0-907.48.2
0-1008.710.2
0-100-012.711.9
Passing, 45-65 MPH1.92.0
Quarter Mile12.2 sec @ 118.7 mph12.6 sec @ 113.5 mph

In all aspects the M2 accelerates faster. Quarter mile 0.4 seconds faster with a significant higher top speed.
0 to 100 is even 1.8 seconds faster. That is not close at all lol.

And we don't even have to discuss the interior. It is a fact that the BMW has much better interior quality. The word Premium on the Mustang doesn't make it a better quality than the BMW. American cars are way behind in this area with too much cheap plastics.

The Mustang makes these things up by being a V8, looks more agressive and has a better sound. But speed and interior quality is not even a reason to discuss about lol. The Germans are way more advanced in this.

The MT M2 runs pretty much what a A10 Mustang runs. Also if you get the auto version of the DH or the M2 the ZF8spd is so much better for track work than the A10 in the Mustang. At the drag strip the auto zf8 spd M2 is a 3.6 0-60 and almost mid 11s at over 120mph.

I think that’s a pretty good summary. Look at the car, sit in it, dive it and at the end of the day you get two almost completely different cars although they’re quite similar on paper. They somehow get cross shopped but from my own experience and what I can witness all around me is that you are either one or the other.

I would like to get the best out of both worlds but you can’t. You can either have a knife or a hatchet and I would go for the hatchet :D

One thing, when I got the M2 I did miss the Stang. It is more visceral that the G87 due to the Coyote and the exhaust note. The M2 it took a couple of weeks of ownership until I fully started realizing what this car is about. Part of that is the 1200 mile break in, so for the 1st month or two of ownership you have to baby it. The silkiness and revhappy S58 I6 is really sublime. Yes no doubt you realize it's heavily turbocharged, but it has a very linear pull very much feeling like it's a normally aspirated motor.

BTW, my wife said the same about me, you look more of a Mustang guy. I feel the payment influenced her though...😜

I wish we could just hang out one day and just switch off cars back and forth on some back roads. True test in my opinion!
Oh, the Dark horse is a whole other beast after an oil change and 1200 miles than it was new as well.
