As the title says whats with 90% of the of aftermarket being very overpriced cf parts for this generation. Like anderson having an 800.00 gt hood vent replacement. I mean wth. Anyone else waiting on non cf parts. Mind you nothing against the look if thats your vibe.

I would imagine the margins are way higher on selling something carbon.

Honestly, seems like a waste of money to buy carbon from all these new sellers without any established quality or material information.

I think we are going to see a lot of peeling and oxidizing carbon parts in the near future.

They’re trying to milk us and it’s definitely some bullshit. They could’ve been balls deep in affordable/profitable HQ plastic reps and it seems ALL the majors took the low volume high margin greedy CF route.

It’s been my biggest disappointment with the S650, the lack of aftermarket support…
Not even just the CF, it was like you had to go to high school with whipple to get a damn kit also.

so I’m more than happy that “international” producers are going to eat their lunch.

Carbon Fiber BS should’ve been an after thought…. Terrible way to bring product to market as launch items

they should have sick ass cool hood vents and stuff by now, grills,
Corner vents…

I kinda blame all the low quality poverty RTR bs and ford giving them the jump, maybe Shelby and roush will start releasing cool bits to put pressure on the rest.

Almost a year and hardly any plastic versions out. So far I have an Amazon splitter on my car which was like a little over $100 and simple bolt on, which makes the car look better and I’m waiting for an eBay DH spoiler to be back in stock which is just under $200 and someone has already posted pics and said the quality is good. Much better than spending over $1000 for a CF spoiler or other CF parts that are a couple hundred bucks.
Now all I need to do is sell this OEM DH spoiler I bought used and buy the eBay spoiler and pocket a bit of cash 😅😂

Everybody gonna do what they gonna do, but you'll never catch me strapping a bunch of eBay garbage on my Dark Horse.

That said, I'm also NOT a big CF fan, either. All the overpriced fake CF is just a bunch of gimmicky BS to me.

My only experience with CF was a license plate frame. the shiny finish delaminated in about 3 years. This was a ~$40.00 license plate frame!
Needless to say, I will be staying away from any exterior CF upgrades.

Nothing wrong with that. I went the way of the base gt because i like to tweak and build the way i want it. I do have the ebay dh spoiler but i got tired of the lack of aftermarket and some of the reps i did find were low quality and overpriced.

Most definetly no reason for it. I understand carbon fiber and the mould process but no way it costs that much to make parts that arent aerospace strength.

Yea that would cheese me off really badly. I dont mind interior cf which i am in the process of covering the bad wannabe dry cf look of the factory parts. I live in florida the sun kicks the hell out of everything.

I have the ebay dh spoiler. Its solid. I decided to polish mine down and hit it with some ceramic. Wanted to tone down the hyper gloss of the black hood vent and air designs spoiler. Which is solid as well just a bit to tame i wanted something with a more aggressive look and functionality. Had the car up to speed on the way in to work early this morning felt a bit more planted in the rear. I did grab the rtr hood vent mostly due to the 4th sales and a first responder / veteran discount. Hopefully its not craptastic.

I too live in Florida. When I had the WRX with the license plate frame, I was living in North Central AZ.

Yea its hot sunny and brutal on everything. Seen too many hi quality cf parts get damaged or dulled just due to longer term sun exposure down here.

Speaking of, there was a batch of gloss black DH reps, never clicked the buy button so fast!!

should be here by start of next week, worth the extra 50 to have gloss black for me.
