Does the 2024 GT have a start/stop system? If so, can it be disabled?

The first ones do not (job 1) but I believe all the ones produced going forward (job 2) do have it... there is a button to disable it, but must be pushed after every start... no way to disable permanently.

I am still waiting on mine but I have been watching YouTube videos where we can set different profiles. - the profiles have a setting about start/stop and it appears it can be set to off.
I wonder if anyone has actually tried it to see if it works. I hope it does!

My 2021 Silverado had it ..bought a bypass plug in wire that permanently kept the start stop button deactivated

I found a user settable setting in the menu that said it turns the car off after 30 minutes of idle time. I haven't played with the setting as I figure if the car has been idling for 30 minutes, it should probably be turned off. If I am in a traffic jam, I would normally turn the car off long before that anyway.

Just received my 2024 GT Performance Convertible and there is no start stop. Built 12/23

Something isn’t adding up here. Built 12/23 and you got it 12/26? And didn’t job 2 already start which is supposed to have start/stop?

Maybe they meant built 11/23 cause Job 2 started 12/4, I got built Gt Premium 12/7 and it has start/stop

That is different from the start/stop that is being discussed. The start/stop is the "feature" that turns the engine off when you stop for a light and then restarts it when you give it gas. I hate that feature and am glad my 2024 missed it! We had it on my wife's BMW and luckily could turn it off on that and her replacement Lincoln didn't have the feature.

It's really annoying, especially if you are on the highway and sitting in slow moving traffic. Listen at the light and you will hear the cars where drivers have to suffer with that annoyance.

The function previously known as the ignition switch/button or the automatic stop after it has been started but may start when they determine it is either acceptable or required to do so? Although they do have an engine idle time out which is a separate function.

Yes, you can set up to 6 driver profiles, which have a setting to turn the stop/start off. The catch is you CAN NOT change the fact that the car starts in normal after every restart. So I have a user profile set to all of the sport settings and Stop/Start disabled. When I get it, I just hit up on the profile selector, on the steering wheel twice, and boom... I'm in sport mode and stop/start is disabled in one shot.
