I spend 2 hours at my dealer to conclude my 2025 GT needs the wiper motor replacement. Now they order the part, notify me it's in, and schedule an appointment to replace. Just what did I wait 2 weeks to schedule for? I thought this is the time the dealer needed to get the part. Be advised Ford doesn't replace these motors automatically. The dealer verifies your car needs a new wiper motor, and they go from there. What a colossal waste of time just so Ford doesn't have to spend money shipping motors to prepare for the Recall.

Not every car in the recall needs the motor replaced. You waited 2 hours for them to complete the diagnostic procedure to confirm whether your car passed or failed. If a car passes, you're done. If a car fails, they order the new motor and you bring it back for replacement. I've been in touch with several dealers now in the SF Bay Area and they're still reporting the ETA on a fix is early 2027. But again, they're not replacing the wiper motor in every single car... just the ones that fail the test.

Much like many recalls... they have to check thousands of cars, but only a handful of them actually have the issue.

Does anyone know what the test procedure is?

My question now is that I took delivery of a new GT Friday from dealer stock that is part of the recall and was told it was completed. But the NHTSA and Ford recall site are reporting it hasn't been completed. Hmmmmmmmmm

It's common sense they wouldn't replace the motor automatically since they are testing to verify whether replacement is needed. My dealer explained this in advance of making my appointment for the test.

Why would they change procedure mid-stream? Seems i recall the last time there was a water issue it was goop first inspect second, or at least that’s what was widely reported.

Because every dealer stocks goop.

Not on my recall service. It was inspect, water test, then seal as needed, then water test.

I get it, but these service boys and girls don't explain that up front. So tell me Ford is only replacing the confirmed bogus motors. Tell me there's only a handful, and that it means Ford will test and replace on an as needed basis. Tell me the 30 minute test is really 2 hours because the dealer blows. Don't say the dealer will replace if has the part, because the part can only be ordered upon confirmation it fails the test.

But that's not what they told me up front. Ford, not the dealer, a Ford rep text me, and then I called him 2 weeks ago to set this up. He said the dealer would replace if part is bad, and this gives them time to order the part. Common sense says I'm not making this up.

1) Wiper parts have no fix or replacement parts until March 2027

2) Wiper motors are reported to act up only in cold weather, so testing in Summer does nothing.

Obviously there was a communication problem in your case. My dealer texted me. Are you sure your text came from Ford? That seems highly unusual.
