I am going to go with 30% VLT ceramic tint (27% is legal in CO) all around. The law in CO states that tint is only legal on the top 4 inches of a windshield but also that the windshield needs to have 70% VLT so a lot of people get 70% tint on the windshield for heat rejection.

I am going to keep everything legal this time around. 20% is too dark at night for me. 5% is dangerous plus that sounds like a really good way to piss off police who cannot see into your car.

I’d recommend 20% all the way around. Your state has a 30% tint law so consider that as well, get angry at yourself if ticketed and not the laws. 20% is fairly close to 30% on top of the factory and you probably will be fine. 5% is a whole different look. The rear window should allow 5% with two mirrors but I’m not sure. However after 2020 enforcement has taken a plunge on these equipment issues so you would probably be ok regardless.

It looks awesome! Just not sure I dare go that dark on the windshield. I'll have to see if I can find pictures/video from the inside driving at night... I'd love to tint the front a little darker than 70%.

You know, I've got 70 on my truck and the 50 isn't visibly that much different.

I've had 4 Mustangs in the past 12 years and I've had 5% all the way around and 50% across the whole windshield on every one. I also tint the head lights and side marker lights as well. I've probably gotten used to the darkness level but even now sometimes, mostly in the dead of winter, I have a slightly hard time seeing when there are no street lights illuminating the ground. That being said I've already done this to my black S650 because it just looks too damn good.

For what it’s worth, I used to have 15 or 20% on my truck’s side windows and they were OK at night, EXCEPT in the rain. Any time I was turning at an intersection and it was wet, I had to be extra vigilant for crossing pedestrians that were just outside of the headlight beams. More than once I was surprised to notice someone walking right in my line of sight.

I don't like tint. It peels after a few years and can get scratched. I normally own a car long enough for these failures to appear and I am not sure it's easy to remove tint once you have it. My corrective lens adjust for sunny conditions and are clear when dark. This is important to me because I have very good night vision and I want to see every detail when night driving. My vision is to the point I only have one night light in my house for a dark hallway. The remainder of the house I can easily navigate with the light from the windows and an occasionally indicator light from some of my electronics. Drives people up the wall but I used one 100 bulb to light my great room at night. My house is new construction and I use additional lights for things like cooking but why light the world when you don't need it.
Tint may look cool but I will forgo the looks because collision damage looks worst.

So, you convinced me to go with 55% on the windshield. I stayed with 15% and 5% for the other windows. And I'm GLAD you did -- I LOVE the windshield tint!

Stunning. I wasn't ready to go with 35% on the front, but both your vehicles look great.

Like @Dena mentioned, I've always been leery of the cheaper tints that bubble, crack, fade and don't look good after a while, but I'm a convert to the ceramic stuff.

I have ran 5% on all but the windshield for years, on all my vehicles.

Ceramic tint helps with the seeing out, if that is an issue for some.

Just go with the max your state allows...I know in Virginia they are very strict about it...police carry light meters with them, and if you fail...it will cost you in a fine and then having to get them removed (to ensure they are within legal limits).

So, I got my S650 GT Friday finally! With that being said I have already scheduled to take it and have all of the windows tinted. I am thinking of doing 5% for the rear windshield, rear small windows and both Drivers Side and Passenger side Windows. Then doing a 5% brow with the rest of the front windshield being 35%. Has anyone rocked the 5% on their front windows on the S550 or really any car for that matter, how was it? Pros vs Cons? I may bump it up to a 10% for everything, I'm just torn and looking for opinions. TIA!

Here's the tinting law for Indiana:
Windshield - Non-reflective film is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer's AS-1 line. Front Side Windows - Must allow 30% of light in. Back Side Windows - Must allow 30% of light in. Rear Window - Must allow 30% of light in.
Cops carry light meters and if they suspect you exceed the limits...you will get a ticket and forced to have them removed (at your cost of course).
