Will I get my car?

I ordered a 24 mustang on 6/14. GT premium 401a AVE NPP atlas blue. I have not gotten a VIN or build date yet. With the issues with getting NPP parts and Ford about to switch over to the 25s I’m wondering if my build will get canceled. I found one about 500 miles away. My exact build just black instead of blue. Not gonna lie the black with NPP looks good. I was thinking about seeing if my dealer can get it shipped up here. What do yall think?

If you do, be clear on the price you’re going to pay before you ask them to try to trade for the far away car. Have you looked on auto trader / Ford for your build and just changed zip codes to surrounding areas? That’s how I landed my Dark Horse. I looked for all of 15 days, maybe 2 new ones popped up on the listings but weren’t actually at the stealerships. The one I bought and 3 others were in stock. One was not configured like the others and of the 3 comparable, 1 was MSRP, another significantly over msrp and mine was almost 5k under. All configured the same except for color.

This is the information age, not 1978. We’re not limited to 3 stealerships to buy our cars from. I flew out and drove 251 miles back home.

To add some support to what @smurfslayer said; my current S550 came from a dealership in Alberta. I bought it sight unseen and had it shipped 2000km to me here in Ontario on the back of a covered transport.

My DH is slated to be uilt on Aug 8th so we will see how that works out but the point is you CAN shop around; ANY dealership would be happy to deal with you as long as your money is green. How you get there and back though, that is up to you!

Probably will not get built with the NP and you cant get Atlas on 25's anyway... FYI I bought mine from out of state dealer and had it shipped to my house. 800 Miles $1200 in an enclosed carrier arrived in 3 days with PlyCar

Even after shipping I saved $4K over my local dealer.

If you want the blue don't settle. I get lots of looks and comments on the Atlas Blue. Any expense on having one shipped would probably be cheaper with the 2025 price increase.

Agree though if he wants Atlas and order gets pushed to a more expensive 2025, Atlas blue is no longer an option, unfortunate because I love that color.

My opinion...it's all a crap shoot at this point. Speaking specifically of my Dark Horse Premium order, it was ordered on 4/6/2023. On the one year anniversary of my order,4/6/2024, I got word that my production date was week of 6/3 and I actually got a VIN...very excited. Since then, my production date has moved to weeks of 6/10, 7/15, 8/5, 8/12, 8/26 and now week of 9/2. I'm still optimistic because I've got the VIN, but not nearly as excited as I was on 4/6.

Actually, what options did you order for yours cause as it stands right now it looks like mine is being built in that August 5th production week with a Priority 1.

I ordered everything except Recaros and Carbon Fiber Wheels. And, good for you on your order! I wish you luck and hope you get it as planned! The Dark Horses are manually allocated, and I think there are a lot of us still waiting on them. Good Luck!
