Something funny came to mind while reading this thread. I'm running an ecoboost now, but I also have a 6.7 super duty, and I swear every other diesel that pulls up wants to race another diesel. They'll usually cruise next to me for about 100 yards then roll coal off. My trucks got alot of miles on it and I've already got a lift pump going out so I'd rather not embarass myself...

but the funny part is I had a 2008 F350 prior, with the 6.4L, on 37's with a hot tune, and lemme warn you, you're in for a good treat. 6.4's are no joke. I knew I could blow the doors off alot of cars, but generally speaking I avoided it, I prefer to stay out of trouble.
Save for this one silly 4.6L Mach 1 that kept egging me on for 4 intersections. Revving his engine, lurching, the works. Well, finally I had enough of him. It was the last light for about a quarter mile, I built some boost and let her rip. The worst part was his exhaust was so damn loud, and I had left my window down. He stuck with me for about 30 yards but I walked him hard after that. He tucked tail and turned off at the next intersection, but my ears were ringing so hard, I pretty much regretted the whole ordeal. I know beating a 4.6 isn't really bragging rights, but theres a certain irony to this because I feel like the mustang crowd is probably the biggest offender of trying to race on the streets. Particularly the older 4.6 crowd. I've never seen a fox body with something to prove, and I think most folks know not to mess with one lol.

I'm trying to get anyone to race me. Finally got the stage 2 Whipple installed now along with the other mods I've had done and new drag radials. The car made 736 on the dyno on pump gas and it feels faster since learning and using octane booster. The only joy I get is when someone tailgates me and I leave them so quick, when I look back and hit the brakes I see a distant image that I can barely make out to be a front end.

In two cases, I've been pulled over. Both times I was wrong; Speeding and Rolled a stop. Both cases, the Officers were professional. In each case, received a warning only. In fact, the Trooper who pulled me over for speeding was a former Marine. We had a pleasant discussion (See target). In the end, LEO's are doing their job and should be treated with respect.
If your state does so, get the "veteran" endorsement on your drivers license. Saved me from half a dozen speeding tickets so far. Not to mention free entry into a lot of parks.

Where I live when they run your history they can tell if you work in law enforcement somehow.
SEAL, Ranger, SF, etc., aren't LE and don't show up on a civilian database search.

It's because off-duty officers sometimes carry a dozen donuts, and sometimes coffee, in their cars. They got da goods.😇🍩🍩🍩🍩☕☕

Okay, so I was doing 60-130 times on a Sunday morning. I was frustrated that I was only hitting 7 second times for my first tries while boosted. I was done and just cruising home. I was doing baby hits and guess what? I let my guard down, next thing I know I see a cop....shit...
The cop gets behind me for a few seconds then hits the cherries and berries. I pulled over right away. Officer comes to the window and says, "I clocked you doing 92 in a 70." I gave HER my info. She says, " I was hoping you'd run so I can use my grappler" I said, "Hell no! I don't want that kind of trouble!" Honestly, It's just a speeding ticket, so I'll take my hit and lick my wounds. If I was going to run, I'd have never let her get close enough for that shit! But it's just a ticket so I don;'t care.

It's the first time my radar detector failed me. And right after I made a post about how it had never failed me lol

At least I didn't get caught doing 60-130s. I feel like someone probably snitched me out. To all the Karens out there: (applause) And I'll be back. I'll be back.

I was really wondering about this... lol. I stopped caring about radar detectors decades ago when lasers/lidar came out. They're a narrow beam and generally undetectable until you've been gunned, and of course it's too late by then.

At least she had a sense of humor. I got popped a few years back doin 115 past him on the opposite side of the highway. By the time he caught up to me, I almost forgot about him. He wasn't happy, double tapped for the tint as well. Only wrote me for 90 thankfully. Got even luckier when the ADA showed up to court and dropped everyone in the sessions ticket down to 10 over because they didn't want to stay all afternoon lol

Yes they do.
Pretty sure the Privacy Act of 1974 prevents the DOD from providing any part of a service members personal military history or record from being disclosed to local law enforcement without the service members express written consent, unless it's necessary for an investigation, which a traffic stop wouldn't warrant. Pretty sure if I get pulled over and they run my plates and license, they'll just see information regarding my driving history, past/outstanding tickets, and any warrants that I may have. The database the civilian police use isn't connected to the DOD or my OMPF.
