Do any of you guys put it into valet mode when you take the car to the dealer for servicing? Wondering if it blocks them out of anything they need access to for a standard service. I always find it annoying when you get the car back and find that settings have been changed, like seat positions. I guess at least it would mean I don’t have to empty the centre console.

6 month service and oil change coming up.

Look in the center console under the rubber mat ..the Mykey location is still printed in that location where u would place the mykey to have programmed ..but it’s pointless
It’s not totally pointless, if your key fob is completely battery dead, you can place it there and still start the engine apparently. Doesn’t address how you actually get into the car if it’s locked and the key fob is dead though…

So a little off topic but I didnt want to start a new thread. I just picked up my used mustang and it came with only one FOB. A local locksmith will charge 185 to program the fob and cut the key one I get the official registration. Do they have the information to cut the key to the proper one from Ford? I tried the key that came with it after speaking to the locksmith and it only opens/locks the glove box and will not work on the door.

You cant start the car with a key friend. If the fob is dead, you still have to use the spot in the center console as mentioned or no starty start.

Urgh so the whole reason I wanted to use valet mode was to preserve my settings in case of technicians fiddling with the OBC, but I tried it this morning (it’s actually no use for service as it also locks the trunk), after switching it off I noticed that some of my settings did not revert for example my cluster theme choice, kPa instead of psi 😡 I haven’t had time to go through and check other settings yet.

Yeah, valet mode doesn't have anything to do with saving your settings in the event of a refresh to the computer. Thats going to happen no matter what.
