I got my car back from having the drivers side cat replaced under warranty, just in time for winter.

has anyone done a before/after dyno with the new calibration from Whipple? Just curious how they're keeping the peak power the same if they took timing out of it, or adjusted the cat overtemp parameters.
It appears that there are 2 sensors for the electronic throttle position. Sensor 1 controls the throttle position based on input from the peddle. Sensor 2 checks to make sure sensor 1 is functioning. It turns out that the Whipple tune disabled sensor 2 for unknown reasons and that’s what the hold was for.

Did they remove the hold because I have a recall for something to do with the BCM for the Supercharger... "May cause unwanted motion" or something like that. I have had it twice where the accelerator sticks for about 0.5 seconds after I left off. It only happens sometimes.

It seems there may be two issues; one for a recall from Ford and one from Whipple on the calibration?

That is pretty scary . . .

I realize Ford took a lot of flack about the Whipple hold, but kudos, kudos, kudos to Ford for a) recognizing there's a potential catastrophic result if one check failed, and b) holding vehicles until the issue was fully understood and addressed. Redundancy checks and balances are a good thing...ask aircraft folks.
Attorneys could have had a heyday on the first hiccup.

I wouldn’t drive any vehicle that has a throttle that sticks for any amount of time, especially one with 800+ hp

Fascinating. Thanks for sharing - THIS is a good causal explanation for cat meltdowns...
