What sort of price should I expect?

With the employee pricing, I decided to take a hard look at the local inventory, and found what I think is a nice setup. I'm thinking that I should be able to get this under $60k. Maybe $58k? Am I wrong? Dealer is advertising at $66,400 MSRP, and looking at the history on car edge, it looks like they at one point advertised it as low as $62500 previously.

id go in looking for 62k. and even then i'd say that is pretty low chance. reality of the situation nowadays with how economy is going, i wouldn't be surprised to see all of these get to 60k and above, at least for this fully loaded setup. For context, i paid 65k for a dark horse premium last year. Keep that in mind with how crazy prices have gotten. I honestly think if you can afford to wait until late this year or early next year, the prices should go down again after all this nonsense in the economy normalizes

Maybe. Some dealers will list the AZ/X plan prices on their site so just find a similar car at another dealer that lists the price

Sounds like a pretty good deal. Never hurts to try for less, some of my best deals have been when I was happy to walk away (and on cars sitting on the lot for months).

I just did a quick locate and found one in Prosper, TX, invoiced on 10/24/24, is this the one you're trying to buy? Race Red?

That is the A-Plan price, $60,689.00. When you sell at A-Plan price, Ford doesn't allow the dealer to deviate from that price, it is what it is. Hope it works out for you, nice car!

Stick to 58 and see what happens. If they are giving away APlan pins to all, you should be able to do better. Then again, if it is spec’d the way you want, I wouldn’t loose much sleep over 2k.

If there are available rebates in your zip code yes, but from what we've been told by Ford, it has to be A-Plan price if you are using the A-Plan program, no deviations. Of course the dealer can do whatever they want, they might be subjected to an audit and then be charged back.

I learned this the hard way years ago selling an Excursion demo, we gave him the plan pricing, plus the dealer commission because it had 5,000 miles on it. We got audited, charged back the commission, and I was banned from using D-plan for a year, haha

That's the one. They are telling me it was a custom order but it was sitting on the lot for a couple months while they waited after I told them I knew it was sitting on the lot for a least 120 days. Not sure they expected me to know that, lol.

Took her for a test drive - first time driving a pony since I had to DD in a 2000 GT for a drunk friend - and I was blown away. Right now, I came home to talk to my wife about the deal. I'm being a bit of a stickler over my trade-in. They went lower than I wanted, but looking at the local market, I think they might be giving more of a fair deal than I anticipated.

I'll update again in a bit, but right now it's leaning toward a done deal.

They aren't lying, it's an order type 1, someone specifically ordered it from them. Maybe couldn't get financed, got tired of waiting for it to get built, died, etc... Trade in value is often the biggest issue, if you think it's fair, do it. If not, hold off. They might rethink it in a couple of days if your number isn't totally out of line. Only gamble you're taking is someone else wanting to buy it with no trade or no expectation on trade in value. Either way, good luck!
