I kinda have a thing about over inflated shipping costs, so I've been going to Beefcake Racing lately. $12 flat rate on shipping, no matter what I've purchased so far.

Just as an example, I went to a particular company's website to order a product they manufactured; but when they wanted nearly as much to ship the part as it cost (which was just shy of $200), I decided to look elsewhere.
I found it at Beefcake, cost me $12 for shipping, and it ended up being drop shipped from the original manufacturer.
The same place I originally went to purchase the part.
So it definitely pays to shop around a bit!

What's bullshit is when you buy something online

$500 - RACE CAR PART
$30 -TAX
$25 - SHIPPING

and then they try to add another couple bucks in 'handling fees', 'express shipping', 'shipping guarantee', 'shipping insurance'....

I remember NewEgg doing that crap on computer parts. Bought something and paid for 'next day shipping' but they didn't actually process the order until the next day because I didn't pay an extra $8 express handling fee

The tax and shipping you can’t really get around but the dumbest shit is the Route shipping protection that they automatically check for you until you see it on the final checkout screen. And it adds another 80-100.

edit: don’t want to call out specific shops, but I believe if you use Shopify or some other mainstream web service/API to wrap your store around, you can generally turn that shit off by requesting it in the API request itself or make it automatically checked off by just passing some Boolean into the request

Just seems odd you would have to call a company to verify if they have a product. E-commerce developed real time inventory for websites back in the 1990s LOL
Hence the problem with jit

I hope I’m posting in the right spot.
So, my experience ordering stuff for this car has been a disaster.

-Ordered stuff from Lethal Performance and when it never shipped I asked why and their reply was “it’s ready to ship, but technically it’s on back order.” Then they subsequently told me their website doesn’t reflect inventory and I should have called for availability??? What??? Canceled order after 10 business days.

2nd place I tried was American Muscle. Shift knob came scratched/blemished and their return process seems cumbersome for a sub $100 product. First customer service email ignored. Only after I reached out on multiple platforms did I finally get some guidance.

So then I tried ordering a few things from Ford. Nothing crazy, but they only shipped half my order then gave me the same reply, basically saying it wasn’t in stock. However, looking at their Ford Performance stuff, some of their orders say “on back order “ but the product I purchased wasn’t, and I never got an email explaining anything. For all 3 companies I had to pester them just to get a reply.

This is my first Mustang and I don’t have experience with any of these companies. Just wondering what your go to for purchasing anything aftermarket for your Mustang. Thank you!

Steeda, LMR, and I've heard Beefcake is also tops. Steeda has great products. I have Steeda's H-Pipe, Stop the Hop Street, and Tri-Ax short shifter street in two Dark Horses, and H-Pipe in a Mach 1 along with Steedas billet aluminum blue anodized shifter ball. Received the products promptly.
