what is everyone using for tow hook?

It is called a tow hook... not a lift hook... only rated to drag the car out of the gravel trap or grass and back onto the track.

It's to get your car on a flatbed because they are so low and there's nothing to hook too. Now if you want the boy racer look buy an aluminum folding one anodized in some bright colour.

Did the 2024 premium GT with the performance pack come with a tow hook? I see the cut out for it on a styrofoam tire kit in the truck but no tow hook?

Anyone else missing it or just my bad luck?

My car is lowered and I get it on a flatbed without a hook just fine.

The tow hooks are really just so you can pull it around the pits with a cart or whatever

those cheap townhome are easily one time use if any force needs put on them or any weird angles get involved

So that explains why all these different four door none race cars come with them. Now if you want to believe your car identifies as a race car then that is it's right.

The performance pack option includes the standard ford tow hook. It can be located in the trunk near the air compressor. The tow hook is included with PP option regardless of the trim level.

Why is the DH version more expensive than the other?

For a front tow hook, I installed one from ZL1 Add Ons. In the receiver, I used a rod they sell that screws right in. With that, I can place either a 1) front tow hook or 2) license plate bracket.

For a spare, I'm using one from Automotive Authority. It's a space saver which tucks under the existing facade. Those taking long-distance trips might want to stow a full-size spare.

Some tracks require front or both front and rear hooks or straps. It depends. Check with the track or the organization while shopping as to what their requirements are.

Attached are some additional photos. It's real simple.

1. Pop the cover on the front bumper. Press on one side, lift on the other. With a small pick, you can then apply pressure to the cover lanyard and remove that.

2. ZL1 sells a reverse-threaded rod that screws into the receiver. Screw in. Tighten.

3. With the rod in-place, now you can either screw on hook end or license plate bracket they sell.

I haven't studied other companies, but I'm sure they offer similar setups. Hooks can be had in several colors, or primed, so the owner can powder-coat in a color of their choosing.

At that time, the rod, hook end and license bracket were listed as GT350 pieces. Same underlying car, so they went in without changing anything. Looks like they have some listed for the 7G now.

Doing some quick checks on that page, they have GT and DH-specific hooks, as mentioned in their descriptions.

It's a tow hook the race guy's say it's for the track. For this purpose it works well. However the other reason is for winching your low car onto a flatbed.

The tow hook makes it much easier to load the car using a winch. I use it every time I load my car on the trailer. I can’t imagine trying to winch it without the tow hook.
