I keep miles low for a few reasons

1. I only drive it when it’s perfect out, I believe I’ve only washed it 2 times since 2023

2. the car is flawless every time I pull it out, I’ll occasionally microfiber and wax it, inside/out
Daily’s tend to just get dirty, even if you wash it a lot you’ll get paint swirls etc… dirt and debris build up in the interior.

3. I go through cars pretty often, this is easily my 20th or more mustang, lower mileage and showroom condition make it far easier to sell and keep the value higher.

let the next guy enjoy it more… I hope he does.
I’ll be onto something different

Personally I don't see why you couldn't daily a Whipple car if you wanted to. The gas mileage isn't affected much if you drive normally. You will need a budget for rear tires.

The car won't make any more noise or drive weird. It's not like a centrifugal car where you have that open bypass valve most of the time going sssssssshhhhhh

They will do any car have on the lot (or you order) for a fixed price of like 10-11k

The way they come up with the special advertised price is with whatever discounts they want to offer.
I was watching some videos and they brought the wheels up as well, i’m sure ill find the answers when I need them but just to ask/clarify since im not the best at car knowledge, would the cars torque affect the rear wheels and wear them down a lot, requiring me to buy more of them? or is it just the wheels not being able to handle the power of the tq? or is it something else? just curious. thanks!

thats good to know, thank you

Tires, not wheels, you will be buying more of them and more expensive ones ($350-$450 each) in an attempt to put the power down. And possibly wider wheels so you can put a wider tire on than stock.

This is what I never understand..
You and me both. I can't wait for the day when I look at my car and say, "man, what a blast I've had with it, time for something else now". It's called, "fun".

Hey all, i’m curious as to what your opinions are on this build and what you would do differently. I’m wanting to get a new Mustang, originally I wanted a wrx, but I just couldn't get over the mustang so now i’ve made it my goal to save up for it next year. These are the options I want to build it with. For the paint I want to go with the Molten Magenta Metallic Tri-coat, and the opacity fade strip down the middle. The 401A package and also the Performance Package, I mainly want to get the PP because it comes with the drift brake and i’m not sure how one would go about adding that later on. The Magne ride dampening, and the AVE exhaust. I also want to whipple supercharge it for that 810hp. The car would be my daily, and I want to keep it for years on end, with the goal of taking it to the track here and there to take my dad out for a run. What do you guys think? i appreciate any insights. Thank you!
if you are thinking track days in terms of road course then get a Dark Horse and keep it NA….
Road racing a forced induction GT PP1 with no additional cooling mods not ideal …

if you are talking drag racing then you are headed in the right direction

Honestly, I would take a long hard look at your goals of buying the Mustang as described. We all dream on paper and then face reality. You are looking at a car that going to cost you a ton of money and will also cost you more when feeding the beast. If you are thinking long term, then you will soon be upset with having a very expensive car to drive. Have you checked the cost of car insurance? If you are young so many things change. Worry about job security. Are you married or single? What happens if your marital status changes. I see so many young guys get a super car and sell it a year or two later because they see the light when feeding the beast or they fall in love and need house or baby money.
You might want to consider a nice GT Premium with a few options. They are scary fast. I've had Shelby GT500's. They were an animal to drive, and, in most cases, I never used the power.
Just a few words of wisdom from an old guy who has been there and done that!!!

I think you'd have to be a fool to daily a car like you described.

If you want to daily it get a low spec premium gt for 46k-50k.

If you want to build a supercharged track car get a base GT and supercharge it. Put a real track suspension and wheels on it. You can do way better than the PP for way cheaper.

If you want to spend a ton of money on a track car you're also going to daily go ahead and try it but good luck. You better start with a pimped out dark horse and good luck keeping the engine alive past the warranty period. Not sure what kind of extended warranty you're going to get.

Man if I was rich I wouldve gone for a german car no doubt. I’m gonna be saving up most of my income to put towards the car, itll be well over a year before even reaching that mark honestly.

I was hoping to negotiate with the dealers and seeing whats around me, I live in Oregon, and I saw that lebanon ford sells a mustang gt for 53k with the whipple on it and was interested in that, but not sure what theyd say if i were to add all these options plus its not the base model so youre right itd be well over that 53. I’ll have to look around and see what I can work out with dealers, and if anything ill look into some other cars

my daily is an fpiu and i drive around like that all the time lol, its a fun explorer to drive around
That is going to be a pretty base level Mustang for 53K with a Whipple. Like 300A and a stick.

A Ford Performance Whipple kit is going to be a tad over 9 grand, and assume another $3000 to install it, and that is without catch cans, axles and other stuff you might want to have if you are going to track day it, plus you are going to want look at rear end cooling if you track it.

I do have the money to do it, and the money is still sitting in my bank account ( I set aside $15,000 to do my car) and I paid cash for my car to the tune of just under $57 grand.

I chose not to do mine, I found the car was nice enough as it was, YMMV and I am not judging anyone who has pushed the 5.0 to the ragged limits.

Based on your time line, I would be looking at a GT500 it is going to be a lot easier to get your money out of a Shelby should you decide to sell it than it would be to get back the money you put into a Whipple kit. The question is do you want to drop in excess of 75 grand for one?

I agree 100%, i am a young guy at 20 years old, and im sure things will probably change throughout my journey. I’m sure the car is a silly decision, but I’d rather enjoy what i’m able to now before getting older and having bigger responsibilities.

My current car guzzles gas and im sure the mustang will too, i get around 13mpg which isnt the best. I have a secured job, just passed the probation period and got a raise, i feel very blessed, i honestly didn’t think I would make it this far as ive struggled looking for a full time job for almost 2 years now. i'm part of a union and will soon be making $30 the hour which for me is plenty as of now. I also work a part time job on the side, i dont make nearly as much but it helps.

I am not married but I have a lovely woman by my side. She’s thinking of moving in with my mom, since I live with my dad. We are thinking of getting a home, and perhaps she would move in as well, both of us helping my dad with the bills of course, but the house would be mine in the end.

I am just trying to give you my situation and wanting to hear what you think, since youre older and have experienced other things,

Thanks for the advice and sharing your story it helps a lot to get that perspective from someone who’s been in the same shoes at one point. I hear you on the “feeding the beast” thing with a car like the Mustang. My current car is already guzzling gas at like 13 mpg, and insurance at a little over $300, I know the Mustang won’t be much better, but I’m still super set on grabbing the build I want because I’m stubborn. I’m planning to pay cash by saving up the next couple of months so that no monthly payments have me stressing me out.

I feel like i’m in a good spot now, blessed even. I just passed probation at my union job, got a raise, and I’ll be making $30 an hour soon once i get a cdl that they pay for, which is plenty for me. Got a part time job too that helps out. I’m not married, but I’ve got a lovely woman by my side, and we’re thinking about getting a house with my dad. She’d move in, we’d help with bills, and the house would be mine eventually. I know I’m young at 20, and things might change, but I’d rather enjoy this Mustang now before bigger responsibilities hit me in the stomach. I’m trying to keep my future in mind, and I really appreciate your wisdom on stuff like insurance and life shifting fast. I’ll definitely think it over as I go. Thanks again for your advice.

That makes sense I talked with them about it just recently after posting.

I don’t mind spending upwards to that 70 grand mark, if its going to be my daily car i might as well upgrade it over the years and add to it as i go, but i don’t think id track it at that point to avoid having to spend anymore on the car after getting it with the charger, thank you for letting me know about that it’s definitely something ill have to consider.

Do you mind me asking why you dont want to anymore? what made you change your mind? I get its nice enough as it is but just curious to know what makes you feel that way, thanks!
