Hey all, i’m curious as to what your opinions are on this build and what you would do differently. I’m wanting to get a new Mustang, originally I wanted a wrx, but I just couldn't get over the mustang so now i’ve made it my goal to save up for it next year. These are the options I want to build it with. For the paint I want to go with the Molten Magenta Metallic Tri-coat, and the opacity fade strip down the middle. The 401A package and also the Performance Package, I mainly want to get the PP because it comes with the drift brake and i’m not sure how one would go about adding that later on. The Magne ride dampening, and the AVE exhaust. I also want to whipple supercharge it for that 810hp. The car would be my daily, and I want to keep it for years on end, with the goal of taking it to the track here and there to take my dad out for a run. What do you guys think? i appreciate any insights. Thank you!

Must be nice to be rich

Rumor has it the drift brake is going away, unconfirmed but possible.

I too was going to Whipple mine, but once I got the car I found out that the 400+ HP at the wheels was enough for me. YMMV

You are talking well north of 70K for the car and the Whipple install, plus you may be adding other things like beefier rear axles, catch cans, maybe even a driveshaft.

Remember it is more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

For the cost of all the add on goodies beyond the gt/401A/paint options you want you could find a gently used Miata and make a nice track day car out of it. Same goes for a Boxster S you could be in one for less than the cost of the Whipple and install.

Frankly, at the price of a new Mustang GT plus the PP options, etc etc etc there are some German cars out there that will knock your socks off.

I wouldn’t for a daily and I have a whipple GT.
It’s not that you can’t, but the tank is so small you will be at the gas station everyday.

once you get the whipple and the tune it really changes your perception of speed, and the extra couple hundred lbs of TQ under the curve are incredibly useable in day to day driving.

I guess if your drive isn’t far have at it, I like to keep my miles low.

i guess we will see when the 2026 order guides come out, then. personally, i doubt it will get removed. so much development and marketing went into it, plus that article from from just over a year ago. if it was such a big problem, they would have binned it for the 2025 MY
I agree it was pretty much the main feature Ford was pushing with the S650. Lol. That and the screens with all they have

Man if I was rich I wouldve gone for a german car no doubt. I’m gonna be saving up most of my income to put towards the car, itll be well over a year before even reaching that mark honestly.

I was hoping to negotiate with the dealers and seeing whats around me, I live in Oregon, and I saw that lebanon ford sells a mustang gt for 53k with the whipple on it and was interested in that, but not sure what theyd say if i were to add all these options plus its not the base model so youre right itd be well over that 53. I’ll have to look around and see what I can work out with dealers, and if anything ill look into some other cars

my daily is an fpiu and i drive around like that all the time lol, its a fun explorer to drive around

why do you like to keep the miles low? if you don’t mind me asking. If i get a car like that I’d want to use it everywhere I go!

He wants to keep the car in good shape so that the next owner can enjoy it more than him.

If you’re looking at more than a year out then you may be inline for a 2027. That could be a refresh year so who knows what the differences could be. One thing for almost certain. Molten Magenta will not be around. These special colors only last a year or two at a time.

As far as the rest of the build, it sounds awesome. Hope you’re ready to go sooner rather than later. 👍

Personally I don't see why you couldn't daily a Whipple car if you wanted to. The gas mileage isn't affected much if you drive normally. You will need a budget for rear tires.

The car won't make any more noise or drive weird. It's not like a centrifugal car where you have that open bypass valve most of the time going sssssssshhhhhh

They will do any car have on the lot (or you order) for a fixed price of like 10-11k

The way they come up with the special advertised price is with whatever discounts they want to offer.

I was thinking of that, i hope they make it better if anything by that year. That color is really beautiful, what a shame, hopefully im able to do something sooner, I really like that color
