Yeah I've also mentioned this in some prior tyre conversations but most people are so burned by the name PZero, they dont want to hear anything about it. I understand that to an extend. I so wish our cars came with PS4S's.
Agreed 100%, not looking forward the PZeros

Same. I'm not going to spend the money to swap them day 1. So I guess I'll find out if they are ok or not.

Yep, $2.5K is a bit much to waste on day one, even if you can salvage some by selling the PZs. I think i will adopt a try and see approach, and hope for the best lol.

Very close results. Does the Michelin PS 5 have any advantage?

Interesting Tyre Comparison, if real-world accurate, it would seem the P Zero has improved.
Pilot Sport 4 S VS P Zero PZ4 - Tyre reviews and ratings
I am certainly no expert when it comes to tires or racing, but I did take my car to the track running the stock PZ4s, and they actually performed very well. Of course, that is very subjective, but they are not complete trash like some people make them out to be. I think a lot of the negativity comes from the older P Zeros and not the PZ4. These are not the same tires as the old P Zeros.

I have Continental Sport Contact 7's on my S550 and the are better than the PS4S in my view (plus they stack up well in independent reviews as well)

Judicial use of this could accelerate the transition to PS4S! :giggle:

I'm going to cord the pZeros before I buy Michelins to replace them.
Minimal performance differences do not warrant swapping out a brand new set of pZeros.👍

The pirellis perform fine, but the big difference imo is the road noise and the ride quality. Swapping to Michelins made the long rides a lot better to drive and way more enjoyable. I’ve found through tracking, you save a couple seconds with the Michelins as well, but for those who don’t track and don’t mind a louder tire, pirellis work fine. Continental extreme sport contact 02 I’d say is much better value than both the Michelin ps4s and the pirellis. Just wish they had it in more 35 wider sizes

My PP came with stock Pzeros and I have no problem with them - why the hate? This is my first sports vehicle so I don't know any different. Should I be getting PS4s next when these run out?

Same thing applies to Dunlop Sport Maxx among the Falcon faithful. Ford being Ford chose to fit the high-performance Falcon's with the cheapest version of the Sport Maxx. A combination of too much power and the overall weight of the Falcon meant those base tyres really struggled. Thing is, there are several higher-spec versions of the Sport Maxx that are very capable performance tyres, but most of those shitting on Sport Maxx's don't understand that. I have a set of Sport Maxx RT's on a car and they are very good tyres.

I can only hope that these newer generation P-Zero's have moved on since the versions fitted to early S550 Performance Pack Mustang's. Those Pirelli's were undrivable on wet or even cold roads, and it only got worse with age. I replaced mine with plenty of tread left on them, the PS4S I fitted transformed the car in terms of ride, steering feel, traction in both wet or dry conditions.

I dislike "Summer Performance" tires because they only work when it's HOT outside. When it gets cool at night they start slipping. In spring and fall they are particularly dangerous. I've tried several brands. Just don't like them on a daily driver.

I also learned years ago that Pirelli makes garbage and swore I'd never have them again.
