I have a base 2025 Mustang GT with 3.55 gears and the A10 auto, I was doing some spirited driving on a closed road with it in drag mode with the advanced trac off and it was spinning, but when it shifted from 2nd to 3rd it cutout like there was still some sort of traction control still on? I was wondering if there is still a safety feature that would cause this? I am still on stock wheels and tires.

This is precisely how mustangs go into walls lmao. Grabbing traction during the gear change with a cocked steering wheel.

Did you long press the traction control button it should show a timer/ slider bar to turn on crowd tracking mode all kidding aside. The drag mode is for well, straight lines, the advance trac/ traction control isn't meant for circuit course or spicy straights, aka turns, it tends to spaz out . Try track or sport you should get better results.

Serious question.....what are you trying to accomplish? Are you sure you have a base model with 3.55 gears and an automatic? Base comes with 3.15 gears and an automatic.

3.55 gears are an option. I don't think there is a trim level requirement.

I don’t do road course, I was in a straight line and held the traction control off for probably 5-8 seconds until it read advance trac off, I just thought it was unusual that it cutout for a split second and I thought maybe someone else might have some insight on this? Thanks

Did you hit th rev limiter? That will definitely cut the power, regardless of traction control

I’m going to confess to being a little confused. I understand what each drive mode does and what Traction Control/ Stability is supposed to do.

But what are you guys saying actually happens in the real world of actual driving With Traction Control on? Are you saying it helps or makes things worse?

I could have, I wasn’t looking at the tach and it was right after the 2nd to 3rd gear shift which is why I thought it was odd

RevLimit was my first thought based on your description. You should go test it so you're familiar with it.

These cars still have some electronic intervention even in "fully off" modes.

At least in S550 GTs, if you pull the classic Cars-and-Coffee move: a burnout from a stop while making a turn onto a street, it will let you spin tires until your first counter-correction, brake stab, or letting off the gas--if any of those conditions are met the computer then intervenes to stop your wheelspin. That's my experience at least. (this is with Advancetrac 'fully off')

I’m going to get a set of drag radials and go to the local drag strip this fall
