I'm getting my first oil change on Monday then leaving the car for a few days with the dealership so they can fix the open recall, install the aero plates that come with the PP and should have been installed at initial pickup, adjusting the left dual exhaust that is hanging lower than the right, checking the A/C, and hopefully addressing the touch screen lag. At least this is all covered under warranty and they are giving me a rental but I'm just curious if others have had a lag on their touchscreen? Is this an actual problem I'm having or is it like this with all s650s? I had a rental Ecoboost before purchasing my GT and I don't ever remember it being as laggy and slow as mine is now. Just curious what others' experience on this issue has been?

My touchscreen menu is far from instantaneous, and if I hit the mustang button it's busy loading .... whatever for a good 45 seconds on startup.

At startup, the screen is reasonably quick to present the menu - probably under 20 seconds(?) and climate responds pretty quickly during this time, but if you want other menu options - updating the color scheme, changing the cluster display gauges, vehicle options, etc. you’re going to be waiting. GPS is faster to respond than previous generations.

And once in a while there’s some lag.
Navigation is usually pretty quick to respond.

So yeah, there’s some initial delay and latency, but not horrible. Most of the time.

Yes that's basically what I'm dealing with. Even warmed up after 10 minutes or so I still get a little lag when accessing climate for instance. Doubt ford will do anything for it but just trying to see if it is what it is type situation. Hopefully an OTA update down the road helps with this.

I have just learned not to touch the screen right away. By the time I drive out of my underground everything is good to go. My F150 lags a bit as well, and other recent Fords I have had. 2022 Explorer ST was worse then the current Mustang. I would be surprised if the dealer will resolve anything.

+1 on the 35-45 seconds delay at startup (for the Mustang button screen). I understand its an operating system booting up, but it's annoying.

Same. I notice it lags less the longer the car has been operating but it's still always there even after, especially when going to the climate setting

I agree with not touching too quickly. It seems to make it even slower. I doubt there is anything that can be done. I think Ford just screwed up with their processor choice. Why they thought this lag, during development, was acceptable, is beyond me. Glenn

Exceptionally poor judgement if trying to appeal to a younger market segment. No ipad/equiv android tablet/mid-tier phone is gonna have UI lag like this. Hopefully it can be fixed in software. I have to wonder if Ford outsourced the development to the lowest bidder and will now pay 3x as much as having gone with a reputable vendor/developer because of all the mistakes that need fixing.

Also with all the development we've had with suspending to disk, I can't fathom my the mustang screen takes so long to load.

Outside of the touch screen, The Driver information centre switching between drive modes selection/animation is also really laggy. Thankfully it'll actually change your drive mode without having to wait for the whole animation, so now I just blindly hammer up/down to get to sport or track or back to normie.

That and all the stupid graphics of the car turning around don't help and other pointless bs. Can we just get a version that disables all the stupid fluff and just does car things. Its a mustang not a dam gaming pc. Now GET OFF MY LAWN. lol.

I've experienced the same issue. What's funny is that sometimes the menu comes up right away when I start my car, and other times it takes forever to load. I drove my car to lunch on Wednesday and the menu popped up right away on start up at home. Got into my car after lunch at the restaurant and it took forever to load.

When mine was delivered 11/09/23, I didn’t notice much lag. After the OTA update for the 68 gauge package on 4/17/24 it was horrible. With the last 2 updates it is now back to acting like when the car was delivered. Slight delay, but nothing horrible. Biggest issue I noticed is to wait for apple car play to connect.

I don't know if this will work for everyone but before I start my Stang, or any cars, I plug in the cord, unlock my phone and start Apple Maps. So far, it has always, excuse me while I punch myself in the head or rather, knock on wood, worked. Glenn

I agree. Technology is a great thing, but I think Ford went a little overboard. Just give me the basics please.

I found that letting the maps load , BEFORE touching anything , helps immensely.

If you try to change screens before the maps load , it locks up.
