Welp, it finally happened to me and I was pissed. Watched a few videos and looked at many posts of how to fix the "experts design".

What I did

Cleaned all surfaces inside and out on the track and window. That helped some. Still looked a little "sticky" on the last 1" or so
Did the close the latch, open the top and push a tiny bit and the "sticky" turned into a minor pop at the last 1/2" or so
Lastly, I busted out my RV conditioning tools (anyone with an RV knows the rubber and seals are a absolute bitch). I started with window lube and it seemed to have worked, for now, but I think this would have been better. Slide out lube.

I agree this is not optimum but if it works, it works.

A twice yearly lube with Silicone lube kept my 2003 vert rear windows closing fine. I did lose a motor in the front driver's side window, but otherwise all was well. Over 200k on the car and it's still on the road. My son has it now.

ever since the 2015 S550, there has been an issue on convertibles where, seemingly randomly, the rear quarter windows will not roll up completely, causing a large gap between the quarter and side windows. as far as i know, Ford id not change much if anything on the convertible system for the S650, which is why the issue persists 10 years, a refresh, and a "new generation" later

Ohhh by bad. I didn't realize this was a convertible topic. 🤦‍♂️

Guys, forget about the lubricant fix (although the guy uses it additionally at the end of the video, that's not necessary at all because the aligned window doesn't have too much friction anymore).
It's not a design flaw, just a simple assembly flaw.
All you need is an 11 mm socket wrench:

Edit: That is also the official Ford solution under warranty.
If your dealer tries to go cheap by only lubricating, show him the misalignment and this video.

I know from own experience with a Gen6 that lubricating only can work (depending on the grade of misalignment only for so long).
But it smears the top part of the rear window.
I typically have them always down when the top is down though, but I wish I had found that video years ago to do it correctly once and for all.
