I can’t stand the factory shifter with the automatic transmission in the Mustang’s. I changed out the one in my older S550 Mustang so I decided today I’m going to change the shift knob in my new one. I’m not only changing the knob, but also the bezel around it to make it look more like a stick shift. It’s kind of poser, but I like the look a lot better. I went with the billetzworkz shifter, and I am not sure if I like the black or not. The last one I got was silver and I wish I could find one with a brushed silver. Still, I think it looks a lot better after. I went with red to match the calipers.

To each his own. But I agree, factory shifter could have been better.
The one you selected looks awesome. I like it. I do not understand how it can be a "poser"? I have a manual and changed my shift knob to a white Hurst one, which looks like yours.

Mine is an automatic trying to look like a stick.

I understand. What I mean is it looks perfectly fine and nothing wrong with it.
At the end of the day you and only you should like it.

While ago I took a manual CTS-V to PNW. OMG never again. I-405 I-5.
Luckily I live way out in the boonies. I stay far away from the city.

Did people do this with s550 as well? Never knew putting manual shifter knobs on automatics was a thing.

That style auto shifter has better functionality than the top flap style Ford gives you. I'd like one where you pull up on the collar instead of having to push down on the knob.

How does pulling up help?

The first one I bought from SR Performance (pic below) you pushed down on know (which simulated pulling up on the collar) but this one's knob does not move. You push down on the collar.

I prefer it that way I suppose. Same reasoning of why does pushing down help?
Guess it works fine, didn't understand the changing it
