I never installed it, but had a couple friends who had it in their s550. You basically lose the ability to store anything that would require the back seats down. So if you were planning on any track days, this would either require you to rent a trailer to transport everything or have someone bring all the consumables you'd need.

I'd ok for a Cerwin-Vega spare tire mounted model complete with built in amp. Would save lots of room. But it depends what you want. I'd say .96 cf x 2 is fairly big for one speaker. I had a 1.75 box which I used for one fifteen. I later got 3 JL 10W-6s dual 6ohm voice coils which brought cf per speaker to .33 cf, speakers had 1 inch of excursion. Amp was PPI 1000 Watts. Used one inch particle board in place of the old .75 in speaker mounting board. Things pounded like a pile driver. But lost lots of drop as the 15s are famous for. This was a winning combination, but the speakers were heavy with 80 oz. magnets each. Lots of trunk room.
