I just had a stage 2 Whipple installed in my 2024 Mustang gt PP1 A10.
I am on stock tire with the outside temperature around 60F.
I've done a couple pulls with the trac control on and the shifts are a little weird.
The first video while on track mode it, the shifts from 4 to 6 almost seems like the transmission slips. Once it hits 7th gear it loses steam .
The 2nd video on sport mode seems to shift better .
I'm am sure the stock tires and cooler weather is making the trac control come on , but wanting others input or advice on if this is normal 🤔

If you want the best times, switch to Drag mode. Read the manual first so you know exactly how to make the line lock work, and wham!

I can't speak for the A10 in your GT, but in the Eco-Boost the shifts are nothing short of butt-kicking!

Plus 1 for drag mode or sport mode, track mode the throttle map is slow and linear.

also you’re likely just spinning the tires and don’t realize it, mine will spin my slicks if I go WOT at 60-70, i
Can’t imagine on street tires, dangerous.

also not supposed to go WOT into 7th. Must be a 3:55 rear gear car because I am barely through 6th around low 150s

enjoy, and get some free flowing headers sooner than later 👍

Now that I think about it I thought I was spinning earlier but it kept pretty straight so I wasn't sure since traction control was on . This acts different than my 2022 which would get sideways a lot with the whipple.
Yes My gear ratio is 3.55 my car is a PP1. I will have to try it with traction off when it warms up.
As far as 7th you said not to go WOT?

The stage 2 Whipple changed up everything. Going to have to experiment with it.

on my DH, stage 1 whipple, hot day, Nitto 305 wide 555G2's I will spin at WOT. Even my stock 275 PS4S's spun like crazy.

Per whipple manual

DYNO INSTRUCTIONS 7th gear is 1:1 which will show the highest power value on inertia-based dynos on the automatic but will lead to unwarranted transmission failures. 5th gear is the safest for dyno pulls and testing. GT based Mustangs are 1:1 in 4th gear. Dark Horse manuals 1:1 is 5th gear. Manuals should run 1 gear lower than 1:1 to minimize heat and tire speed.

So yeah I guess 6th is the highest gear you want to do a dyno pull in for an A10. I wonder if 7th is okay on the street because there's less load than on a dyno. I think the 7th gear friction disc is the last one before they get smaller.

It looks like traction issues to me, which is to be expected at full throttle on an 875 horsepower engine. Great acceleration, though. It is funny how on the second video as you are slowing down it looks like it is crawling, but a glance at the speedometer shows is still reading in the 90s.

🤣

The rpms seem low compared to full throttle runs on my unmodified, naturally aspirated, A10 Dark Horse.

The 2nd video is scary, felt the power through the vibrations in steering and footage.

Yeah, you’re definitely just spinning, but I also agree with everyone else. Sport mode or drag is the best mode, and you need a taller tire, either a 305/35 or a 315/35, so you can get more mph out of those gears.

So 7th and above would be like overdrive on the A10?

It did it worse on a pull I did not video , where tac redlined and it felt like i was not going anywhere at 50 mph , I thought my trans was slipping . its weird because I had trac on.

You can use 7th gear, really 8, 9, 10 are overdrive gears. A lot of people say 7th gear is the weak link, but I don’t know. I go into 7th gear and sometimes 8th and keep pulling. Eventually, if it needs a new trans, I’ll take care of that when I get there, but my trans temps don’t even be getting extremely hot.
