Hi All,

Does anyone else have a whirring sound coming trough the air con vents at around 2000rpm?

I've noticed this since new and it start around 1750rpm up to about 2500rpm, the sound matches engine revs but the air "speed" is constant.

Raised it with the dealer when I got my POM inspection last week, they said it's normal and happens in every car - is this true?

Note: It's not an induction sound from the engine, to me it sounds like the compressor fan behind the vents is rubbing on something.

Just idling with the A/C off and no fan running, I hear some sort of fan blowing somewhere around the passenger side.

Then again, this car makes about 10 noises just parked in the garage even if the key fob is locked away in the Faraday box. it just sits there and occasionally clicks and clunks From under the hood. And not cooling off sounds…it can sit there all day and all of a sudden…clik…clunk….lol.

It seems this was an issue for some in the S550 too. I might ask them to look at it again at my next service. Apparently it could be a misaligned compressor fan.

Oh and yes, mine makes strange sounds at random times when the key is no where near it. When it happens I can also hear the door locks making a noise. I have a feeing (yet to be tested) that the noises are the alarm motion sensors coming to life when you get near it and the click could be the alarm system telling the doors to check that they're locked.
