The car continues its 'meh' theme for me. It looks 'ok or good' in some areas, but why anybody prefers that front end over EITHER s550 front end is beyond me ... IMO.

burnt red / fire as a deviation from the fire-engine red is nice. I think.

Personally, I and most other mustang fans I've talked to can't stand the 2018 front end. This looks like a more muscular 2015-17 front end with better line flow, that's why many of us love it.

The opposite with me and people I talk to concerning the 18 plus. It has more lines than the 24 and those lines flow beautifully IMO, along with the headlights. Nothing glaringly wrong with the 24, I just don't like it as much. Eye of the beholder, I guess.

I think it has better headlights and duct work than either S550 and the only contention I have with it is seeing the grille in real world lighting driving around.

It’s more defined and aggressive than the MY15 and doesn’t have the catfish look of the MY18

This shows that the flat trunk lid is actually well proportioned. Some photos made it look too long, but that just seems like a weird angle that wrongly gave us that impression.
That infamous silver shot likely looked so long because of wide angle lens distortion. I know exactly which pic you’re talking about

Nah! Although I like the 24 in general, I disagree. The headlights are its worse feature. The 18 headlights were spot on and a welcome change from the 'every-car' upturn of the headlights. Catfish? The 24's grill is just to wide looking to me. Looks like it's trying to say something but just can't seem to get the words out.

I'm thinking 'bondage' scene llke being beaten with a cat-o-nine and it's screaming in agony. Or a cat yakking up a fur ball. Unfortunately I don't think a 1.6l ecoboost 3cylinder is going to plop out onto the ground.

To each their own, the issue imo is the 2018 to current design doesn't flow as well as the s650 or the pre-facelift. The s650 front end has masterful line flow. The single line running across the grille and lights. The lower vent lines curve up into the fangs in the grille, which line up with the lines on the hood. The line running up the side vents wraps around, and flows into the top of the contrasting section below the grille. The headlights like the 2015-17 are stretched to the ends, making it look wider, and helping to guide your eye down the side of the car.

Compare this to the 2018, there's very little flow or cohesiveness there compared to the s650. The upper grille is lower, and more droopy, The efforts to connect the upper grille with the lower vents and intakes are half-assed at best, looks like two separate cars mashed together. The corner vents look so bad.

The forward slash angle they added to the lights makes the front end every saggier looking, disrupts the flow of the design, and makes the lights look even smaller. Which looks very disproportionate because they made the grille slightly larger. The hood lines are also a downgrade, the way they remain mostly straight, just to curve aggressively right before the windshield doesn't look as good as the 2015-17 or s650 where the key hood lines are more gradual and consistent.

The only improvement on the 2018s over the 15-17 and the s650 is the sharply angled DRLs which look sick. Aside from that, it's a mess. Sure, I can understand why some don't like the black section under the s650 grille, but it's pretty good looking. Plus if it bothers people, it would be extremely easy to paint to wrap it body color. The only way to fix the 2018's front end is by replacing the entire thing.

Exactly, the terrible image quality combined with the negative comments of the person who took the pics makes me wonder if they intentionally distorted the pic to make it look worse. Some people are petty like that.
