Thank you, im going to double check tonight. Looks like that is the one I need. Now hopefully someone can verify that we can activate the pump via forscan. I couldn’t find anything in the modules when I connected to forscan. I checked on the g6 forum and found some info, but I don’t know if it applies to our cars. Roket stated it is in the bcm, but Im not super confident.there’s a lot of as-build stuff i don’t want to touch.

Are you going to do the OEM install or are you still going with Steeda? Steeda install will require standalone wiring.

I was looking at both, I want the oem system. I found a steeda system on tps motor sports at a great price. Waiting to see if they ship it. I prefer a fanless system. One less electronic to fail. If they don’t ship it, I’ll do the body modifications and build a custom system and use the Mmr module

that is the one I need, now I have to find the settings in forscan to make sure I can turn it on.
Thanks again

I take it you’re going the OEM route? Doing the OEM install later this month on mine. Let me know how it goes.

Hello, brand new to the forum and found this thread on rear diff cooler harness. I've ordered MMR's rear diff cooler for my 2015 GT Premium. The original rear diff did not come with a temperature sensor, therefore there is no rear diff temp gauge option available on the dash. I've upgraded the rear diff to a Ford Performance diff and it has the port for a temp sensor in it. I've attempted with FORScan to enable the gauge. There are two listings under the IPC Module configuration, "Axle Oil Temperature Display" and "Rear Differential Temperature Display", both are disabled as expected. I've enabled, both one at a time and both together, and attempted write. I get "Writing blocks failed - incompatible configuration" every time. I'm wondering if this is because the sensor wiring harness and sensor are not installed? Will it be a waste of money to purchase a wiring harness and sensor?

Thanks

Unfortunately I’m not real familiar with the 2015 programming but I have a few thoughts. For clarity, I’ve added the OEM rear differential cooler and all the associated OEM parts along with correct harness to display the differential temps on my 24 Premium. I used FORScan to configure the display without any issues. Interesting enough I enabled the feature to display on the dash long before I added the harness. I had to replace the rear abs harness which includes the rear differential sensor connector. I located the Axle Oil Temp setting also in the IPC module. Just a few ideas that you have probably already looked at so apologies if this doesn’t help or give food for thought:

If you’re getting the error message than I’m not sure it’s as simple as changing a setting in the IPC. My first thought is it depends on the following:
  1. Correct IPC firmware (Performance Pack Strategy / Firmware)
  2. ABS module support
  3. Sensor input actually being recognized by the network
My guess is you’re going to have to reflash the IPC “strategy” to reflect that of a Performance Pack. Then, install the harness and use FORScan to reconfigure the ABS and IPC.

Again, this is just my thought but maybe a place to begin for you. I can’t imagine you’re the first one to do it so hopefully someone in the forum can provide more insight.

Thanks Cool66. I've been looking around the internet and found one thread on the S550s about hunting down wires behind the driver's side kick panel and having possible to add wiring to one of the connectors.
My car does have ABS so I know the ABS module is active. The car is a Premium edition, had the oil pressure and vaccum gauges in the center dash. I accutually changed the gauge package out for vaccum/boost and did activate that with FORScan, which also added the gauge in my cluster. The car has the wiring connector under the seal plates for illuminated seal plates which I understand were not there for non premium models. I added illuminated seal plates but had to enable the power to the connector with FORScan. I was hoping the wiring for a diff temp sensor was already in place, but it's not. The original diff cover did not even have the port for the sensor, so maybe it wasn't even an option until after 2015.
I have an ESS supercharger on her now and had Lund Racing do the tune for it. I'm wondering if that might effect enabling some options as it's not the stock tune. I've sent an email to Lund asking about it, I expect they'll say no.
I'm thinking my easiest option is to just add an aftermarket gauge. I was hoping not to have something hanging under the dash though.

PP GT with Magna Ride (Not a DH)?

You are adding the OEM rear differential cooler and pump?

Added the temp sensor a few months back which now display the temp on my dash with the rest of the gauges. Had to update the harness to the PP harness to accompany the sensor but was no big deal. I’m currently in process of adding the OEM diff cooler as well. Same cooler, lines, pump, and hardware from the GT350 and GT500 but at a much cheaper cost. Purchased the pump, cooler, and lines off of eBay from a 22 GT500. I don’t believe your car has the harness to control the pump. Mine did not. MMR makes the connector(777519) to run the pump which will need to be wired in correctly along with a switch to activate the pump unless you’re going to run a thermal switch. Additionally, for the cooler to fit and for air to pass through, you’ll need to change to the DH lower rear valance panel along with the lower rear splash shield and the assorted hardware. It sounds like a lot of work but it’s not bad. I have all the parts and plan on doing the install in a couple of weeks. In all, it cost me less to do the OEM install with all the additional hardware than to go to an aftermarket kit for $1500.
I have a non-PP car as well, can you give me the part number for the wiring harness that you got? And where the wiring harness replaces the old one? Are there different variants of this harness or is it just a standalone harness for the temp sensor?

Just one harness that connects under the right side of the rear seat. Has multiple connectors along the harness. It passes through a rubber grommet port above the rear differential. It has several connectors on including abs, parking brake, and a couple of other connectors. Have you activated the Axle Temp display on the dash through FORScan? Installing the harness will take an hour or so as it has a few connections that are in tight areas. Take the rear wheels off as that will make it a little easier to access the areas. Let me know if you have any question.

I haven’t activated the gauge yet but I already know where to activate it, I just wanna double check what the part number is because I’ve been seeing multiple part numbers shared on this thread.

Hopefully the picture helps.
I ordered the sensor and the harness but I just have one question about the diff cover. I saw in 6g the diff cover and it doesn’t seem the sensor actually goes into the diff fluid. When you put your sensor in was there a port to remove that would leak diff oil or not?

Were you able to figure this out? I’ve been looking at the diff coolers from the gt350s and gt500s and they’re pretty well priced used, would be nice to have that easy install and only have to worry about plugging in some connectors to get the whole thing working
