It's been less than a month, the car isn't even broken in past 1000 miles yet and I haven't even made my first payment yet and I've already had to schedule a warranty appointment.

I noticed this morning my dear defroster wasn't working like it should only half of one line was actually melting any ice. Upon further inspection it looks like the defroster power wire tab has had the adhesive break off already. On the way back to the dealer after work to schedule a service date I also heard a little metallic thinking noise like when you drop the 10mm socket into the depths of an engine bay. Sure enough I look again and the tab is completely gone. Just the wiring connector is there now. So not only was it not glued properly but it was loose in the connector/not pushed on all the way and is now either going to have to be replaced or have the whole interior torn apart to retrieve it. Not to mention I am going to have to go a whole week and a half with no rear defroster during peak window fogging/icing season.

Thoroughly unimpressed with the mouth breather that installed that at the factory, here's to hoping they don't come back and tell me I need a whole rear window replaced and it will be months of backorder to get new parts..... Anyone else have this happen?

Screws fall out. The world is an imperfect place.

I'm sure it will be fixed and be a non-issue.

Looks like the strip of windshield I clear off when commuting to work in the winter. Least amount of ice removal possible in order to drive.

My commuter is not a Mustang, but I digress.

I've decided to cancel my appointment with them. I took the panel apart to look at it to find the worst solder job I've seen in a hot minute. I've soldered better halfway through a 26er. I just picked up some Grote spade to spade connectors for like $5 and a Permatex Defroster repair kit.

The glue isn't even fully cured yet and the defroster was already able to get my breath off the rear window 10x faster than it worked before. I'm thinking whoever/whatever made that solder connection at the factory was either new/high/didn't care or all three at once.

For those who are wondering if they themselves have to tackle this issue the part # for the glue kit is Permatex 09227, and the Grote Specialty Adapters are 84-2901. They are 1/10th the price of the 2 pack of Dorman defroster tabs, come in a pack of 15, have more surface contact area than a regular defrost tab and already come bent at an angle that will fit nicely. Oh and they click right into the factory lead nice and snug.
