I just got this the Purolator Boss PBL22500 filter from Amazon and it has a couple problems. I am not crazy about how the core has a giant spiral seam and the perforations seem small. The check valve is also pinched at the crimp joint. I used a borescope camera to look inside. I will be doing that from now on. I could see this kind to thing on a no-name filter but not a premium one. Amazon is sending a replacement.

Agreed, would not consider anything aftermarket to be a quality brand. Ford gets Motorcraft, GM gets AC/Delco.

I have watched many tests on these and the oem filters in general do not do a very good job of filtration. Motorcraft also has QC problems.
