I’m always going to support installing extended studs and using slip on spacers. That’s what I did on mine. 25mm front, 20mm rear. Stick a screwdriver in the brake cooling duct or have someone hold the brake in the car when installing to stop spinning. You will need open ended lug nuts as well.
I just did this job (installed extended ARP Studs). On the front, you don’t have to take anything off. Just pound the stud out and it will be able to be removed when it is across from the caliper. Very easy.
The back?…. Not so easy. You will essentially be doing a wheel bearing job. Pound the...
I recently installed steeda dual rate springs, adjustable shocks, competition sway bar kit, and a few other odds and ends. The car already had the stop the hop kit. I can't seem to track down a clunk I've been having. It's intermittent, only happening on roads with a bunch of small bumps in a...
It’s more about varying RPM than speed but they obviously go hand in hand. I did my first oil change at 2k miles (should have at 1k, oh well) and then again at 5k with Amsoil. After that, I’ve done them every 4-5k. No reason to be freaked out, it’s just the piston rings setting. If it continues...
So I’m installing Steeda adjustable shocks and dual-rate springs on my car this weekend. I have seen that when you lower a car you must “re-clock” the bushings. There’s a whole thread on the S550 forum here. I assume given the similarities our cars are similar. The front seems pretty straight...
Absolutely agree on the tires. I switched out the stock ones for a set of PS4 all seasons and even that made a huge difference. I believe the dual rates are 200/800 in the softer range, correct?
I think I'm gonna go ahead and pull the trigger on a full suspension overhaul soon. The car is my daily but will also see some track and autocross use. My primary goals are to get rid of the floatiness at high speed along with some of the body movement upon hard acceleration and braking while...
If you look on Apex’s website they have a pretty comprehensive fitment guide. I’d start there. Steeda also has a really good video on S650 fitment specifically. Can’t offer any first hand experience.
