I had PPF put on the front of my 2019 GT as well as the side mirrors when I got it, but am having it taken off next week. It has been just a month shy of five years. It protected the paint but has started to show its age. For now I am going to pass on getting new PPF put on my car. I will be having them apply ceramic coating over the whole car after they touch up the paint.

Got the front end in PPF (front clip, hood, fenders, and mirrors) and ceramic coated the whole car myself with gyeon mohs and skin. It's piece of mind on worrying about rock chips every time I get on the highway.

To me it was worth paying a professional for the PPF and save some money on the paint correction (which isn't too difficult for a new car) and ceramic coating that is easy to apply.

@raasnio why do you need paint work? PPF on one of my cars after 11 plus years with zero paint work needed after getting the old off and new replaced. I can't say that for the windshield as it needed to be replaced with road rash and a good stone bruise.

I have some scrapes and chips from areas not protected by ppf. I will also say that I don't think the person who originally put it on was great at it. The front was good but the side mirrors never really looked right. If I knew I could put the ppf on correctly I would, but I don't know that I trust my dealer to get it right next time, either.

I don't blame you if you can't get a good installer for PPF. I can't believe the prices some places get. Xpel must be certified to install. Here in AZ there is alot of competition so prices are not bad.

I say yes, you only have factory paint one time. And the added protection is so much better than paint alone. I like to drive my car, run road rallys and dont want to have to worry about it. I had wished I did on my last car and didn't mind the $2200 to do the front full with xpel.
