Leave the backing on the tape. Put it on the module side, test fit, then put back in place and push in. Once you get it going in smoothly, get it almost in and peel backing and drop it in. Once completely installed, press down all way on trunk side to stick the tape. Once all bolts and nuts are tight, park on the sun for a few hours.
Exactly what Mike said. I was less professional and just stuck it on and bolted it down - still came out perfect.

Me to my wife "OK peel the tape"
Her: "I already did and stuck it down"
Me: "Umm OK.", pushed my side down, "I guess it's on"

x2 on transferring the camera and don't forget to transfer the little metal clips the screws go into (2 for the camera and 4 for the spoiler screws)

Oh yeah, you guys transfer all the clips... forgot that part. I put the modules back to back and swapped them one at a time to ensure they were in the right place.

Let me add the link again to where you can get these Performance Pack spoilers. The Seller was very helpful and although I was worried about a black one showing imperfections, the paint was flawless on the one I received. He has all different colors available. If you don't see what you want, send him a message.

OEM TAKE OFF Ford Mustang GT COUPE S650 24+ Rear Lid Spoiler ABSOLUTE BLACK | eBay

I also learned that ABSOLUTE BLACK = SHADOW BLACK. :)

@Mikestang24 had the right idea:

After you clean off all of the double-sided tape from your car and your new spoiler, lay down the new 1/2" double-sided tape onto the wing, but leave on the backing with a good 8" of extra backing to grab later. (originally there are three sections of tape across the wing, but I put it all the way across)

Once all of the hardware (don't forget the camera) is transferred over, lay the module down in place and start all of the nuts/bolts but do not tighten them. Make sure that extra 8" of backing for the double-sided tape is sticking out and once the hardware is close to being tight, slowly pull the backing off of the tape... and voilĂ , the spoiler is perfectly in place, and the double-sided tape is secure. Tighten all of the hardware and you're done!

Huge and amazing difference!

Happy new year. Got mine few days ago. Few questions:
1) do I have to remove the black foam/tape that is already there? and if so what should be replaced with ? 3M which part number is the best but also way to remove later on if decided?
2) Also the side of the trunk has two red patches , it seems that those haven't been used. Should they also be used?

Happy New Year!
  1. I removed all signs of double-sided tape both from the new spoiler and the car. This was the most time-consuming part of the entire install, but worth it to me. I used one of the ends of the plastic removal tools in the one link below and Goo Gone. Spray it on, let it sit, scrape and wipe off until it's all gone. Then, apply the new strip all the way across (link to what worked perfectly below). I know there are gaps in the tape that was on there, but I just put it all the way across. Leave long 12-inch "tails" of the red part of the tape on each side. Don't forget to swap over the camera and any other hardware! Then, when installing the new spoiler, lay it into place and start all of the bolts/nuts (make sure the tails are hanging out on both sides). Get them all snug so the wing isn't moving around... and then using the tails of the red part of the tape, slowly pull it out from both sides to the center. The spoiler will be perfectly lined up for the tape. Press it down good and finish tightening the nuts/bolts.
  2. My new spoiler had those two red patches/pads on each side, too. The stock one had something, but it wasn't sticky like the double-sided tape. I didn't remove a backing on those patches (if there is one), and just installed it the way it is in your picture.
These are good to have, anyway (including for this project) and were perfect to help scrape off the tape, too:

Nah… just to about what they were when I removed them, which wasn’t much.

Add pics when done!

Hi,
I just bought the OEM take off performance rear wing and module off ebay. I just have the module on my car without a wing. I assume that under the far left and right grommets there is supposed to be a bolt for the new spoiler to be attached. There is no bolt with the standard module under the grommets. Does anybody know what bolt I need to get? Thanks

They look to be 10mm flange bolts very short maybe 10 or 12mm long from the videos I have seen as well. Like you said I am sure someone will know

I stuck a tooth pick down the thread was 12-13mm, so maybe that size with 10mm head & spring washer..

Apart from the 2 bolts, anyone else know what other hardware is needed to install one of these spoilers.
