Whenever it goes it goes into production. Or whenever you meet the 45 days you'll get an automated email about delays.

You'll get an email once it is scheduled for production. So you got the order confirmation, your next email will be either the 45 day automated email or a production scheduled email.

It'll say:
Exciting news–your Mustang has been scheduled for production.

I ordered mine June 24th and received my build date on July 13th. September 19 is my build date.

You could not get anymore emails about your vehicle.
After I got the confirmation email I haven't recieved 1 email about my order since. I have gotten promotional emails from Ford but my Dealership is the one getting the 45 day emails.

It was the same with a previous order. The only way I knew my vehicle was being delivered was because I tracked it.

Dealer told me my order hasn’t been picked up yet by Ford. It’s been about 45 days since my order and confirmation email. Is that normal?

You will prob get the schedule and VIN e mail soon. Likely be a Oct or Nov build.

yes it's normal, especially if any of your options are on constraint. you could be waiting a while depending on your build

You have two separate things that cause a delay on your car.

1. Parts constraints for any options you ordered such as the appearance package.
2. The Dark Horse is being manually pulled into the production. It is an anomaly to all other mustang builds in the way / reason it goes goes into production.

General statement and advice here…Most people don’t pay attention in the forums how the Dark Horse is different in this way and they get each other worked up why they don’t have VINs. Typically trying to help each other but the outcome is unwarranted frustration.

Thanks, really appreciate the input. I’m OK with waiting, really just want to be sure that everything is ok with the order and nothing fell through the cracks. Sounds like what I’m experiencing is standard based on options selected. Also, do you think the production and the entire process will speed up now that OKTB has been achieved and ponies will start shipping next week?

I don’t really know, but I would like to think that the release of vehicles will swing the building capabilities as close to 100% as they will get at this time respecting any constraints.
