2024 GT premium bought in May 2024.
This morning I got in, turned on accesories to get the seat in position, then started the car.
Speakers are completely silent, but display shows radio and nav working, volume going up and down with the controls. I tried shutting down and restarting to no avail.

I dropped my plans for the day and went immediately to the dealer, and the service advisor tried it with no luck. He pulled out the USB stick with my music library, which I didn't try; don't know what else he tried.

I now have an appointment for Monday morning.

The dealer could figure it out??? Sounds like it just needs a reset to me.

My wife’s Lincoln nautilus did the same thing. Infotainment system reboot fixed it. I think JAM486HP listed the correct reboot sequence for the Mustang.

Takes 10 seconds and will probably fix it. Hard to believe your dealer service dept. didn’t try it.

Thanks.
The guy didn't say what he tried, so I don't know if he did a reboot.
I'll give it a try tomorrow.

Got in and turned on accessories this morning and everything's working after sitting overnight. Still taking it in tomorrow to do a general check for anything stupid like a loose connection, but I think it was a Sync system glitch.

It's a sync glitch. Happens once in a blue moon. The dealer isn't going to check for loose wires or probably do anything if it's working correctly. I'd cancel the appointment and take the win. 👍🏻

I Agree 100% with AZ Ryan. Taking it to the dealer will just be a waste of your time. These sync/ infotainment system glitches are more common than you think across many vehicles.

+1 on “take the win”

You're probably right, but since I've got nothing planned, it doesn't hurt to schmooze a bit with the service guys so they remember me as a good guy instead of a complainer the next time I need something.

Thanks all for your comments!

Besides, if they do some diagnostics under warranty they may get paid some.

Awesome. This mimics a problem I had in 2017...

When my ’17 Raptor was relatively new- 2, maybe 3 months old, I had a similar occurrence on Sync version 2.2. Black screen, no audio, nada. Tried the ubiquitous sync reset, power off / on, no joy. Drove home and was going to disconnect the battery the next morning but... didn’t have to.
As soon as I powered on the truck after an overnight, it was back to normal.

The truck has never done it again since ’17. It’s well into sync 3.4 now but again, no further black screen glitches.

+1 @AZ_Ryan : Take the “W”.

From my experience with the Lincoln, these electronic systems go through growing pains. Tend to get buggy in the beginning, then they settle down. Sometimes software updates fix the issue, or maybe just adaptive learning and battery management sorts it all out.
